WWE NXT TakeOver To Be A Two-Night Event During WrestleMania 37 Week?

The next WWE NXT Takeover special may be a two-night event during WrestleMania 37 Weekend.

Earlier this week, a WWE Network pop-up revealed that a NXT Takeover event was scheduled for Thursday, April 8, which is the Thursday before Night 1 of WrestleMania 37 on Saturday, April 10. PWInsider has since confirmed that the next planned Takeover special is scheduled for that Thursday before WrestleMania.

There has been talk of this being the first-ever two-night Takeover event. The idea is that Night 1 would air on the USA Network that Wednesday night as the weekly NXT TV episode, while Night 2 would air that Thursday on the WWE Network.

There is no word on if WWE will go ahead with the two-night Takeover event as the idea could change or evolve with more than a month to go.

There’s also no word on if both nights would take place from the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

Will WWE Use Fan Cutouts For WrestleMania 37?

WWE is reportedly open to using the fan cutouts that were used at Raymond James Stadium for the NFL’s Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

It was reported on Sunday that WWE officials had been against the idea of filling empty WrestleMania 37 seats with fan cutouts that the NFL was using. Now WWE officials are reportedly open to using the cutouts for The Grandest Stage of Them All.

It was reported today by @Wrestlevotes that WWE officials “will 100% discuss” the use of the cutouts for WrestleMania 37. A source reportedly said that it’s “beyond dumb to not” discuss the use of the cutouts because Raymond James Stadium “looked wonderful for what it was” last night at the big game.

The NFL reportedly sold the cutouts used at Super Bowl LV for $100 each.

It’s been reported that WWE will have some real fans at Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania 37, but there obviously will not be 100% capacity. WWE is expected to announce full details on WrestleMania tickets shortly.

WrestleMania 37 is scheduled for Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

John Cena Says He Will Not Be At WrestleMania 37

Veteran WWE Superstar John Cena says he will not be at WrestleMania 37.

Cena just spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to promote his new Mountain Dew campaign, which you can find full details on at this link. The former WWE Champion said he cannot make WrestleMania for the first time since WrestleMania 19 in 2003.

Cena is currently in Vancouver to film the Peacemaker series for HBO Max. He noted that he is unable to make it to Tampa for WrestleMania 37, and then back to Canada for filming, due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Peacemaker series began filming in mid-January, and Cena says the show will wrap in July. He added that there is no logistical way he can make it to WWE’s biggest show of the year in April.

“Currently, I’m in Vancouver shooting Peacemaker, the series for HBO Max,” Cena said. “Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down. Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July.”

Cena laughed at the idea that he is now among the group of part-time WWE Superstars that return for the biggest shows of the year.

“What a hypocritical situation,” Cena said, laughing. “I used to be very open about the fact that part-timers were just that, and here I am at 44 years old and I’ve become what I despise, as they say. That is kind of what it is.”

SI noted how it looks like Cena’s return to WrestleMania will be at WrestleMania 38 in Texas in 2022, or at WrestleMania 39 in 2023 in Hollywood. Cena commented on being excited for the Peacemaker series, and reiterated how he won’t be able to make WrestleMania 37. Speculation on Cena’s WrestleMania return began when WWE recently used Cena, and other Superstars, for the promo video that announced the dates and locations for the next three WrestleMania events.

“It’s a wonderful episodic show, and it’s an amazing opportunity,” he said. “It’s a challenge I wanted, and I get to work with awesome people. James Gunn is writing and directing, which is amazing, and it’s something I couldn’t pass up.

“It’s very difficult to say because I know it’s going to be disappointing for a lot of people, but according to the letter of regulation right now, there is no mathematical way I can be at WrestleMania this year.”

It was recently reported that Cena was a “100% lock” for WrestleMania 37 this year. Triple H commented on Cena’s WrestleMania status during a separate interview with Sports Illustrated last month.

“I won’t put words in John’s mouth, but I can speak to his passion, and it’s WWE and WrestleMania,” Triple H said. “Once you do this at a high level, and John does it at the highest, it’s very hard to put down. If there is a way for him to be there, he will be there.”

Cena made his first WrestleMania appearance in 2003, performing a rap. The next year he made his in-ring debut on The Grandest Stage of Them All by defeating Big Show to capture the WWE United States Title in the opening match of WrestleMania 20. Cena has not been seen since losing the Firefly Fun House Match to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36.

John Cena Reportedly Confirmed For WWE WrestleMania 37

Veteran WWE Superstar John Cena is reportedly returning to the ring at WrestleMania 37.

There is no word yet on if Cena will be working Night One or Night Two of WrestleMania 37, or who his opponent will be, but Ringside News reports that Cena is now a 100% lock for The Grandest Stage of Them All this year.

Regarding Cena’s match for WrestleMania 37, one WWE creative source noted, “I don’t think even Cena knows.

There’s also no word on how many episodes of RAW or SmackDown that Cena will be able to appear on to build to his WrestleMania 37 bout.

It was rumored that Cena was locked in for the next three WrestleMania events, and while he could end up working those shows, he is not booked that far in advance at all, according to the report. WWE recently announced WrestleMania 37 for Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, WrestleMania 38 for April 3, 2022 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and WrestleMania 39 on April 2, 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Hollywood, CA.

Cena has not been seen since losing the Firefly Fun House Match to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 last year.

WWE To Have Fans At WrestleMania 37

WWE is set to have actual fans in attendance at Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania 37, which will take place across two nights on April 10 and April 11 in Tampa, FL.

As seen in the video above, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon spoke with TMZ Sports this week and said the current plan is to have fans in the crowd at WrestleMania 37.

“I’m thrilled and excited because, hopefully, this will be the first opportunity for us to have our fans back in attendance,” she said of WrestleMania 37. “You know, that’s the current plan. Of course ticket information is not available yet because we’re still trying to figure out all the different machinations.

“We’re really lucky though because the NFL Super Bowl is our lead-in this year, from Raymond James Stadium. So, we’re going to learn a lot from them, logistically, etc., and really best practices, what works, what doesn’t work. But man, we can’t wait to come in and for two nights, hopefully, really rock that pirate ship.”

Stephanie later reiterated that the current plan is to have fans at Raymond James Stadium. She was asked how they determine if they go forward with that plan, and how the COVID-19 pandemic affects things.

“I mean, pretty much it really is working with the local organizing committee and all of the health professionals,” she said. “Health & safety is first and foremost, of course. You know, for our fans, for our performers, for the employees, for the staff working the building.

“There’s a lot of different logistics that need to be determined, but hopefully it’ll all work out and this will be the first WWE event where we actually bring the WWE Universe back together, in person, and I cannot wait.”

Stephanie was later asked if WWE knows how many fans they want to try and bring to Raymond James Stadium for the big event. She said they do have a plan but she wouldn’t announce it yet.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre also confirmed that there will be a limited crowd at WrestleMania 37 during a new interview with FOX 13 in Tampa.

McIntyre talked about why WrestleMania 36 was disappointing to him as he hoped to win the WWE Title from Brock Lesnar in front of 90,000 people before the coronavirus pandemic forced the event to move to the closed-set WWE Performance Center. He then confirmed that tickets for WrestleMania 37 will be announced soon.

WWE has announced that the location for WrestleMania 37 has changed. The location was Los Angeles, California but now WrestleMania 37 will be at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The Raymond James Stadium was the original location for WrestleMania 36. As noted, the location was moved to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando due to COVID-19.

The dates for WrestleMania 37 are April 10 and April 11. In the coming weeks, WWE will be announcing ticket availability and safety protocols for the event.

WWE Reportedly Planning A New WrestleMania 37 Date

WWE is reportedly planning to move the WrestleMania 37 date from March 27 to April 11.

It was noted by Fightful Select that everything is still subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but internally the current plan is for WrestleMania 37 to take place on April 11.

A date change was rumored several months ago, to either April 11 or April 18, but now it looks like they have decided on April 11.

The WrestleMania 37 location is also up in the air. It was revealed a few months back that WWE was possibly planning to move the event from the previously-announced location of SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles, CA area, to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL which was the originally planned location for WrestleMania 36 until the coronavirus pandemic forced that event to be held at the closed-set WWE Performance Center.

In an update on the WrestleMania 37 location, the show will not be held in California but it was noted that if the date of April 11 holds up, then WrestleMania won’t be taking place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL or at the Amway Center in Orlando, as MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays and the NBA’s Orlando Magic will be using those venues. Raymond James Stadium is not a lock for WrestleMania 37 as of now, but the venue currently does not have any events planned for WrestleMania 37 Weekend.

WWE should be making official announcements on WrestleMania 37 Weekend soon, but as of now the internal calendars list Sunday, April 11 as date for The Grandest Stage of Them All.

WWE to host Wrestlemania 37 with 65,000 spectators?

WWE has been running its regular shows and main events without the crowd appearance for the last seven months or so, and now, WWE has come up with a masterstroke that WWE Wrestlemania 37 will have the crowd appearance as it has been stated by Jon Alba of Governor DeSantis.

Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports tweeted that Governor DeSantis has given the green light for the Miami Dolphins to run events at their 65,000 seat stadium. He followed by saying that WWE could do the same.

However, WrestleVotes also has provided the updates on the same that the state of Florida will begin allowing full capacity attendance for stadiums events.

Vince has been privately holding out hope for a full capacity WrestleMania. He gets his wish. Whether or not 65K fans show up is another question.

It was reported earlier this month that WWE has tentative plans in place to move WrestleMania 37 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

WWE Possibly Changing The WrestleMania 37 Location

WWE reportedly has tentative plans in place to move WrestleMania 37 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

It was reported today by Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes that WWE has the plans in place for WrestleMania 37 to be held at the original location for WrestleMania 36, before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event to be moved to the WWE Performance Center. The news was originally reported by Ringside News earlier this summer.

WrestleMania 37 was previously announced for Inglewood with the “WrestleMania: Hollywood” name.

There’s no word yet on why the location is being changed, but word is that WWE has “locked down” most of the buildings in the Tampa area for potential events to take place during WrestleMania 37 Weekend.

WrestleMania 37 is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2021.
