Words from a member of the Queens Army

20140518-130640.jpg

For the people that think I’m moving to fast or that I’m absolutely nuts for selling my WWE memorabilia just to get a ticket to UFC 176… A fight that could very well last a min to 15 mins. Let me try to sum up what’s in my head so maybe y’all can better understand.

8 months ago I got into the sport known as WMMA. It was Shayna Baszler who first caught my attention when she completed on the ultimate fighter season 18. It’s because of her that even after she lost her fight on the show I continued to watch and that led me to loving and respecting Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Thus my love for the #4Horsewomen was born.

So what happens next you ask? After the show I went on YouTube watched all of Baszler’s fights that were available to me along with interviews. It was there that I found out that this women has been clawing her way to the top for over a decade. She fought at a time when there was no such thing as weigh ins, no blood testing and in a time where WMMA was non existent in the UFC. Fast forward a bit and you’ll see that I’ve had the chance to interview Baszler twice, we’ve had to many twitter conversations to count AND I’ve met her and when I did I found out her and Jessamyn adore me and actually watch my videos. How cool is that?

Now put all of this into my perspective. Add all of this with the fact that Shayna was suppose to debut twice already but due to TWO injuries she couldn’t. Those debuts were suppose to take place in Vegas and Canada. (Way out of my budget). Now everything is aligned and she’s making her debut in LA. Only a few towns away from me. You can’t tell me that’s not fate.

So you see ladies and gents. I have to be at this fight. It’s like the crowning moment for me as a fan. Sure I may have not been there for Shayna’s climb as it was happening but I know what it took for her to get to this moment. Me being at this fight is the ultimate thank you to Shayna Baszler for always busting her tale and being 100% real. It’s a thank you for getting me into the sport and a thank you for in someways changing my life forever.

I will do everything in my power to be at that fight. Win or lose (but we all know its gonna be a win) I’ll be able to say I was there when Shayna Baszler’s hard work and dedication has finally payed off.

Like she says “me and my army will march on and continue to conquer mercilessly. There will be many who jump on and off the ship to hell and back. To those who stay I will reign in blood and you will be greatly rewarded. To those who don’t we will not save you”

I believe in my heart. Come aug 2nd 2014 is the day I will be rewarded. Shayna Baszler will be the 1 in Bethe corriea’s soon to be 8-1 record

Love and respect,

From a loyal member of the queens army (Vanessa @GreatLove91)

Shayna Baszler to make her long awaited UFC debut

20140505-154902.jpg

It seems like the stars aligned in my favor as of late. Not just my favor but the favor of the whole “Queens Army” it was just announced via Armbar Nation that Shayna “The Queen of spades” Baszler will be making her long awaited UFC debut at UFC 176 on August 2nd 2014 against Bethe Corriea at the staples center in Los Angeles

As you guys may remember Corriea called at the 4Horsewomen after she defeated Jessamyn Duke at UFC 172 just two weeks ago. You may also remember that I went on record and said that if Baszler was indeed the next one of the four to face Corriea that I would feel sorry for Bethe. Baszler was pulled out of two UFC debuts one in December of last year and one in April. Add that to all the negative naysayers and I am willing to bet my life Baszler will win this fight. She has everything to gain AND everything to loose. This is a must win situation for her.
She even said in her own words “I don’t want people to forget who I am need to remind people one more time”

As a devoted member to the Queens Army and an ever growing relationship with the queen herself its a no brainer who I will be rooting for. What about you guys who are you rooting for on this one?

I would also like to say that I am going to try my hardest to attend this event since its not far from me and if I indeed do you can expect some exclusive coverage here on DTRTwrestling. So STAY TUNED

Dana White says he can beat Tito Ortiz in a boxing match

20140429-145145.jpg

This one I found pretty interesting because everyone in the MMA fan world knows that for one reason or another Dana White & Tito Ortiz have legit beef. In fact some fans go as far to say that their beef is the main reason why Dana won’t sign Chris Cyborg to the UFC with Tito being her manager and all. (That’s a whole other story though).
It’s crazy to think that this fight was actually suppose to happen back in March of 2007 but was called off when Ortiz didn’t show up to the weigh ins. White said it was “because Tito knew he was going to get his ass whooped on national television”

Now the drama is re surfacing after Tito sent out a tweet in which he said “now UFC is trying to erase me from history wow that’s low, it’ll come back three fold. sorry fans” he sent out this tweet in regards to the fact that UFC declared John Jones the “winningest 205 pounder in history” after he picked up his 14th win against Glover Teixeira this past Saturday at UFC 172. It should be noted though that Ortiz had 15 wins under his belt when competing with UFC.

White however didn’t address the tweet but he did in fact call out Ortiz once more. You can read the full article here

So what do you think? Is Dana White out of his mind or do you agree with him? Let us know in the comment section. Discussing is always fun

The JessMovement will live on

20140426-223942.jpg

Bare with me because as I’m still upset this may not be the best material that I’m capable of. As some of you may know I haven’t been a long time fan of WMMA. In fact my love for the sport started only back in September of last year when TUF18 aired. It was TUF18 that led me to discover Marina Shafir, Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey and of corse the women that’s the topic of this blog Jessamyn Duke.

With that being said I’m not WMMA smart. I mean I know the basics but I’m still learning. Today was a day that I’ve been excited for since it was announced. In fact other then wrestlemania this was one of the things I was counting down for. It was Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke squaring off against Bethe “the carnivore” Correira.
Now admittedly I know nothing about Correia other then going into this bout she had an undefeated record of 7-0 pretty impressive right?
Just like Correira, Duke also had an undefeated record of 3-0 going into this bout so we knew that by the end of the night someone would no longer have a “zero” in their record. I’m sure you know who I was siding with simply based off some of my past post and or videos and if not just look at the title of this blog.
You could imagine how upset I was when the UD came back in the favor of Correira. However I wasn’t surprised. Throughout the fight I kept saying if this goes to decision Duke is loosing and that was simply because Correira landed more strikes. Honestly as a fan I don’t know what happened to Duke, because I truly thought she had it. I was so confident that truly I was hurt that the outcome was different.

With all this being said though I know it’s not the last we’ve seen of “The Gun” I know what she can do and despite what some of the naysayers may say she is not “just a fluke” she is indeed a rising star. Sure she may have lost this battle but there will be many more on the horizon. Jess is still very young and this is only the beginning. She will live to fight another day. She will continue to get better and better. The sky is the limit for her.
I’ll even go on record to say that “The Gun” is the next big thing in WMMA and one day SHE WILL be a threat to Rousey’s title and undefeated record. The JessMovement is not dead. It will live on for many years to come.

UFC 172 results.

As some of you may or may not know I did coverage on the UFC 172 prelims via twitter @DTRTwrestling. I only did prelims because I typically only order PPV’s if women are featured on the main card. That wasn’t the case this time. There was a happy moment for me on the prelims (Chris beal winning his debut) and of corse an upsetting moment (which I will address fully in another blog shortly)

Even though I didn’t see UFC 172 myself never fear because I have play by play results for you via “Bleacher Report” you can check them out here: http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2042347-ufc-172-live-results-play-by-play-and-fight-card-highlights

Are you guys happy with how UFC 172 went down? Or you going to sleep tonight a little bummed out just as I am? Sound off and let us know below in the comments.

Nessa’s Rant and info video

This video isn’t meant to offered anyone but I apologize in advance if it does. I felt like making this video to rant about a few things that were on my mind regarding the world of WMMA along with a reminder of tomorrow’s bout at UFC 172. This video is not intended to anger anyone. It’s meant to set up a platform for discussion. The video was suppose to be longer but as always my phone doesn’t like me. Remember my views expressed in this video is just ONE opinion. Now you know mine, lets here yours.

The MLB & UFC collide

20140423-131733.jpg

Now I’m usually not a follower of Baseball, in fact I’m hardly a sports fanatic that is unless its pro wrestling or WMMA. However this Friday I will indeed be watching the opening pitch of the Orioles vs Royals game. Why you may ask? Well that’s because UFC women’s BATEMWEIGHT champ will be throwing the first pitch. Rousey will be in Baltimore to promote UFC172 which takes place this Saturday (4/26/14) live on PPV at 7PMpst/10PMest
Rousey will not be featured on this card, However her fellow 4Horsewomen buddy Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke will be apart of the prelims airing on fox sports 1 Saturday at 5PMpst/8PMest when she takes on Bethe Corriea

In the meantime feel free to check out more intro regarding Rousey’s opening pitch appearance

Dana White’s thoughts on GSP

20140418-170451.jpg

When GSP stepped down from the UFC in december after winning his fight against Johnny Hendricks due to a Controversial split decision many wondered what would be next for him. I mean he vacated his title and after all he’s arguably one of the best in the Welterweight division. Further more with That division ever growing by the day thus becoming more competitive there’s no telling what could happen. Many people in the industry including UFC president Dana White understood that GSP just needed to take some time off. However in March when GSP suffered his second ACL injury in the last year. It’s really hard to determine the future of GSP he’s still only in his early 30’s but his recent role in the blockbuster “captain America winter soldier” he may have other things then fighting on his mind. Further more it has been said that GSP made up to 5Million per fight so he obviously won’t be hurting for money anytime soon. (You can check out what Dana White said about GSP here)

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2033784-dana-white-on-gsp-injury-tough-to-come-back-giving-up-your-belt-is-crazy?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming?is_shared=true

So what do you guys thinkwill we see GSP back in the octagon or has this MMA great hung up his gloves for good?

Gina Carano possibly signing with UFC

Gina Carano is arguably one of the best in WMMA. She’s one of the women that took WMMA off the ground and got people to notice. She’s also one of the first WMMA stars to pursue an acting career outside of fighting. (And now Rousey Is following in those footsteps thus creating a path of her own) It’s been 5 years since we’ve seen Carano in an octagon surrounded by the cage. Could it be that we may not have to wait much longer? (Check out Dana Whites thoughts on that possibility here)
http://www.ibtimes.com/will-gina-carano-sign-ufc-dana-white-very-confident-return-talks-possible-fight-ronda-1573114

A dream fight that everyone wants to see is Carano vs Rousey. Two very high profile names squaring off against each other has to be good for business. In fact it sounds so good that the champ Ronda Rousey is even willing to fight in Gina’s weight class of 145. It should also be noted that Rousey has high respect for Carano. Carano on the other hand has one gol in mind and that’s to get back where she belongs and possibly become champ. It doesn’t matter if its Rousey or Davis. She just wants to fight.
So what’s next for Carano? Only time will tell
