Triple H Reportedly Makes Decision On Future Of WWE Tag Titles

The Usos are currently the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the two pairs of belts they hold are inseparable. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H has a plan in place to make sure that there will be two different sets of tag titles for WWE’s men’s division.

The unification of the “WWE SmackDown” and “WWE Raw” Tag Team Championships was the idea initially, but Triple H recently made the decision to go back to treating them as separate entities. Doing this would allow The Usos to keep hold of one set of titles, even after losing the other. The reported hope is that separating the “Raw” and “SmackDown” titles makes it seem more likely that The Usos can lose when defending them.

It was back on the May 20, 2022 episode of “SmackDown” when The Usos defeated RK-Bro to unify the “Raw” and “SmackDown” tag titles together in a “Winner Take All” match. Jimmy and Jey have held the “SmackDown” Championship since July 18, 2021, defeating Dominik and Rey Mysterio at Money In The Bank. Their current reign is the longest WWE Tag Team Championship reign in the company’s history. Along with their “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns, The Usos’ dominance has been a big help in solidifying The Bloodline as the preeminent faction in WWE, with wins over The New Day, The Street Profits, Hit Row and more during their history-making reign. Now the champs will soon be squaring off against The Judgement Day for the “Raw” straps.

Judgement Day vs. The Usos for the RAW Tag Team Titles is set for this Monday at RAW 30th Anniversary show, RAW Is XXX.

Jeff Jarrett Named Special Guest Referee For Usos vs. Street Profits At SummerSlam

WWE has announced that Jeff Jarrett will be the special guest official for the Usos vs. Street Profits match at SummerSlam.

On Friday night, fans learned the identity of the special guest official who will be enforcing the rules between The Street Profits and The Uso at SummerSlam. That special guest official, is none other than Hall of Famer and Sr. Vice President of Special Events for WWE, Jeff Jarrett.

It’s a fairly random choice considering all of the options WWE could have gone with. He’s got no real connection to either team, nor does he have any experience as a WWE official. The best guess as to why WWE chose him was because SummerSlam is taking place in Nashville and they wanted to connect a known Nashville hometown celebrity to the bout. WWE seems to have gone with someone they figure the live fans will cheer at the event. It probably doesn’t hurt that the company had easy access to him as he’s likely on the road and traveling with the roster on a close-to full-time basis.

What’s so intriguing about the decision was that when Adam Pearce made the announcement to close the show, Jarrett wasn’t even on-site. A video package of his greatest moments in WWE — most of which were of him smashing people with his guitar to show he doesn’t mess around — was played. When it ended, The Usos and Street Profits continued to brawl as the show went off the air. Four officials couldn’t break them up.

The Uso Reportedly Sign New WWE Deals

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos have signed new WWE contracts, according to PWInsider.

The brothers reportedly signed new deals a few weeks ago as their current contracts were set to expire at the end of the month.

It was announced on last night’s SmackDown that The Usos will defend their titles in a Fatal 4 Way at WrestleMania 35 with The Bar, Ricochet and Aleister Black, and Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura. They recently spent some time away from working non-televised WWE live events but they returned to action this past weekend.

Last night on SmackDown Live during the semi-final of the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament, American Alpha defeated The Usos quickly. After the match, The Usos shook American Alpha’s hands and then attacked them, giving them a beat down. It appeared that they injured Chad Gable’s leg.

Later on they talked to Renee Young explaining their actions.

Jey Uso Out For Up To 6 Months

WWE announced Tuesday that Jey Uso would miss up to six months after undergoing surgery to repair an anterior shoulder dislocation on his left arm that he suffered at WrestleMania 31.

WWE physician Dr. Stephen Daquino said – “It looks like [his] return is estimated [at] about six months.”

It looks like Jimmy Uso may get a push as a legitimate singles competitor until Jey is able to return.
