As noted, The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions and WWE Studios are teaming up for a movie based on Paige and her family, “Fighting with My Family.” Game of Thrones star Lena Headey and actor Nick Frost have joined the cast, plus The Rock will be making a cameo in the movie. Rock wrote the following on a $17.5 million deal for worldwide rights that MGM has secured:

Crazy that this passion project I’m producing started years ago when I was in London filming and couldn’t sleep (clearly I didn’t have my tequila) so at 3am I turn the TV on in my hotel suite and watch a documentary on a UK channel about a local wrestling family. The doc was intriguing, unpredictable and heartfelt. I had a hunch the narrative would make an interesting movie.
And here we are starting production this week and fortunate enough to sign this kind of deal – I couldn’t be happier for everyone who’s worked so hard bringing this passion project to life.
Special shout out to our new partners Gary Barber and Jonathan Glickman of MGM who came in strong and believed so passionately in this unique project. Thank you boys! Let’s shoot.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2016. The annual feature started in 1985, when Mel Gibson was named the magazine’s first “Sexiest Man Alive.”

“I said, ‘That’s awesome.’ And then what went through my mind was just how cool and exciting it is,” Johnson said when learning about the honor. “And then I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle.’ I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. I’ve done it all, this is it.”

Johnson was also asked why his fans found him to be sexy. He credited his grooming habits, exfoliating his face and his sense of humor.

“I think probably just not trying to be sexy and just being cool and confident in your movies,” he added. “I think with a lot of my fans, I’ve gotten to a very, very cool place where there’s a direct line between the man they know off-screen and the man they see on-screen.”

The Rock Producing New Comedy With Will Ferrell, Based On Rock’s Relationship With Former WWE Writer

Variety reports that Fox has picked up a new comedy from The Rock and Will Ferrell, inspired by Rock’s real life relationship and experiences with former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz.

Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions and Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions are producing while Andrew Gurland, creator of FX’s “Married,” will write the pilot script.

The series will offer a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional pro wrestling company, chronicling the one-of-a-kind odd couple relationship that develops between a charismatic young character like The Rock and a painfully awkward comedy writer new to the world of pro wrestling. They wrote, “A fish-out-of-water among all of these alpha males, this beta former sitcom writer needs as much help as he can get navigating the extremely passionate, sometimes crazy and always unpredictable world of professional wrestling.”

The Rock said:

“This November will mark the 20th anniversary of my professional wrestling debut. I was 24 years old, putting in the hard work, making $40 bucks per match and had no clue of the long journey that lay ahead of me with characters and backstage stories so colorful you’d think there’s no way that can be true. The entertaining show that goes on in front of the crowd pales in comparison to the insanely entertaining show that goes on backstage. Brian and myself can’t wait to tell our stories.”

Gewirtz added:

“Coming from Hollywood to the wrestling industry, with its intense backstage atmosphere and larger than life personalities, was a major culture shock. After working in the business for over 15 years, Dwayne and I had encounters and experiences that were unbelievable as well as unforgettable. We can’t wait to bring this project to the fans.”

The Rock And Vin Diesel Fail To Resolve Their Issues

Source: WrestlingINC

As noted, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ranted this week about “some” of his male Fast 8 co-stars, which was later revealed to be Vin Diesel. Johnson wraps up his scenes for the movie on Thursday, and according to TMZ, he had been butting heads with Diesel during the production of the movie “in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn’t sit well” with him. Johnson, who joined the franchise with Fast 5 in 2011, wrote:

“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

TMZ reported yesterday that the tensions got so high that it was “almost impossible” to shoot, and the two action stars had a meeting yesterday. Apparently things didn’t go well, as TMZ reports today that they did not resolve their issues. One source told TMZ that “it’s all about big egos.”

Diesel finished filming earlier this morning and left the set immediately after. In a speech, Diesel told the crew that he was leaving and said “Daddy’s gone,” apparently because he thinks of himself as a father figure on the set.

Who The Rock’s ‘Fast 8’ Rant Was Directed At

It was noted earlier that The Rock called out some of his “Fast and Furious 8” male co-stars about some of their actions during filming. TMZ reports that Rock’s rant was targeted at Vin Diesel and that the two had a secret meeting on the “Fast” set yesterday to squash the beef. Rock and Vin reportedly butted heads during production, in part because Vin is a producer and made decisions that didn’t sit well with Rock. The meeting came today after tensions were so high that it was almost impossible to finish shooting. TMZ adds that a majority of the cast is angry at Rock for causing such a stir before filming ends.

The Rock Lays The Verbal SmackDown On Some Fast And Furious Co-Stars

Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet

The Rock just put some of his male co-stars in the new Fast and Furious flick on serious blast … but who he’s talking about is still a mystery.

The Great One took to Facebook yesterday to let off some steam about a lack of professionalism on the part of certain cast members saying, “This is my final week of shooting Fast and Furious 8 … My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story.”

He added, “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Whoever Dwayne is talking about  — it doesn’t matter what your names are — you better watch your ass or The People’s Champion might whoop your candy ass in real life.

Fast 8 is scheduled to be released April 14, 2017.

Is The Rock Serious About Running For President?

Source: WrestlingINC

The Rock appeared on Good Morning America today to promote the return of Ballers on HBO this Sunday. In the video, The Rock made pancakes with host Michael Strahan and talked about fatherhood. He was also asked about how real a recent social media post he made was about running for President.

“Well it’s very real,” Rock replied. “The idea of me becoming President one day has become a legit thing to some people. As time goes on, we take the temperature of the American people. If it is an overwhelming, positive, strong ‘we want you to run for President’, and if I felt that I can step up to the plate and become a tremendous leader and make a real difference and make change, I would do it.”
