Seth Rollins Injury At WWE Crown Jewel Reportedly Led To Major Creative Shift in WWE’s “Vision” Storyline

The shocking betrayal of Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw wasn’t part of the long-term plan—at least, not yet. According to new reports from PWInsider and Fightful Select, WWE was forced to make a “heavy creative pivot” following a legitimate injury to the World Heavyweight Champion at Crown Jewel.

Just days after standing tall alongside Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman at the Perth premium live event, Rollins was blindsided by his own allies on Raw. The sudden fracture of The Vision—the faction that had seemed rock-solid heading into Crown Jewel—was reportedly written on the fly to explain Rollins’ upcoming absence from TV.

Sources tell PWInsider that Rollins was spotted with his arm in a sling after his win over Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in Perth. The injury apparently occurred when Rollins went for a high-risk coast-to-coast headbutt. Despite getting hurt mid-match, he powered through to finish the bout and retain his title.

Fightful Select added that the original plan had been for Breakker’s eventual split from Rollins to unfold sometime next year, but the injury forced WWE to move that storyline up. With Rollins now sidelined, Breakker and Reed are reportedly being positioned for a bigger spotlight much sooner than expected.

At this point, there’s no confirmed timetable for Rollins’ return. He’s said to be undergoing medical testing later this week to assess the severity of the shoulder injury.

The timing couldn’t be worse for The Vision’s Architect. Rollins had been locked in a heated rivalry with CM Punk, whom he defeated for the World Heavyweight Championship after a dramatic Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam. In a twist of irony, that title win had been built around fake rumors of a Rollins injury—now, real life seems to have imitated storyline.

WWE fans will now have to wait to see how the company adjusts both the Vision storyline and the Punk feud while their champion recovers.

Bronson Reed Defeats Roman Reigns in an Australian Street Fight

Perth’s own Bronson Reed earned the biggest win of his career, knocking off Roman Reigns in a wild Street Fight that turned the arena into a playground of destruction.

Reigns opened strong, controlling Reed with signature strikes and even working in some local flavor — wielding a cricket bat, rugby ball, and trash can like a one-man sports montage. But Reed’s power eventually broke through, and things escalated fast once Bron Breakker stormed out to spear Reigns through the barricade.

The Usos made a shocking return to even the odds, briefly helping Roman regain control, but a chaotic sequence ended with Jey accidentally spearing his own cousin through a table. Reed capitalized, hit a crushing Tsunami splash, and pinned the “Tribal Chief” in front of his home-country fans.

Post-match, Reigns tore into Jimmy and Jey for disobeying him, saying he “didn’t need their help” and ordering them to stay away — at least until Christmas. It was a meltdown that could mark another fracture in The Bloodline’s story.

Stephanie Vaquer Becomes WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Champion

La Primera made history again, defeating Tiffany Stratton in a technical, hard-hitting match to claim the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.

The two women traded chain wrestling early, showing off crisp counters and athleticism before the match turned physical. Stratton found her rhythm mid-way with her signature handspring elbow and power offense, but Vaquer’s precision striking and submissions slowly wore her down.

After surviving the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, Vaquer connected with a beautiful corkscrew moonsault to seal the victory. Triple H presented her with the championship belt and ring, and a visibly emotional Vaquer delivered a heartfelt promo thanking fans for believing in her journey. Perth responded with a thunderous “You deserve it” chant — and they weren’t wrong.

John Cena Tops AJ Styles in a Classic Showcase

For longtime fans, this one was pure nostalgia — and pure class. John Cena and AJ Styles revisited their legendary rivalry in a match that felt like a greatest hits album for both men.

Cena showed respect from the start, handing ring announcer Alicia Taylor a handwritten intro for Styles, referencing his TNA and Bullet Club accolades. What followed was twenty minutes of tight, competitive wrestling — reversals, callbacks, hitting each other with a lot of famous finishers of wrestling greats and a whole lot of near falls.

One cool moment came when Cena paid homage to Bray Wyatt with a Sister Abagail to Styles which caused the fans to bring out the fireflies.

Styles unleashed a full arsenal of classics, including the Phenomenal Forearm and Styles Clash, but Cena kept kicking out. In the end, a top-rope Attitude Adjustment followed by one final AA did the job. The two embraced post-match as the crowd gave them a standing ovation — a true love letter to their shared history.

Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY Defeat The Kabuki Warriors

Hometown hero Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY united to take down Asuka and Kairi Sane in an electric tag team bout that blended Japanese aggression with Aussie attitude.

The Kabuki Warriors isolated IYO early, cutting off the ring and punishing her with pinpoint strikes. But once Rhea finally tagged in, the match flipped fast — Ripley bulldozed both opponents and nearly finished Sane with a RipTide before chaos took over.

After a series of counters and double-teams, Ripley hit the RipTide and SKY followed with her trademark moonsault to score the win. The Perth crowd roared for Ripley, who celebrated with her championship belt and IYO after the match.

Seth Rollins Wins the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship Over Cody Rhodes

In a main event that had “match of the night” written all over it, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins finally overcame Cody Rhodes to capture the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.

Both men wrestled like they had something to prove, trading technical holds early before turning the bout into a slugfest. Cody nearly had it won after a springboard Cutter and CrossRhodes, but a referee bump changed everything.

Rollins, torn between his ego and his conscience, ultimately gave in to the darker side — cracking Rhodes with his diamond watch before hitting two Stomps (one from the top rope) to secure the three count.

After the bell, Rollins celebrated with Triple H and delivered a fiery promo calling himself “the greatest of all time” and “a Visionary. A Revolutionary. Seth Freakin’ Rollins.” Stephanie Vaquer joined him in the ring for the closing moment — the two new Crown Jewel champions standing tall as fireworks lit up the Perth sky.

WWE Crown Jewel Heads to Australia in 2025 as Part of Takeover Perth

WWE is shaking up its international playbook in a big way. After six straight years of making Riyadh, Saudi Arabia the home of Crown Jewel, the company is officially moving the premium live event to new territory in 2025 — Perth, Western Australia.

Per WWE’s latest press release, Crown Jewel 2025 will emanate from RAC Arena on Saturday, October 11. The event is now part of Takeover Perth, a three-night WWE tour that also includes live editions of SmackDown on Friday, October 10, and Raw on Monday, October 13 — both also set to take place at RAC Arena.

One major name already confirmed for the weekend is none other than Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena. As part of his farewell tour, Cena’s appearance in Perth will mark his final WWE performance in Australia, making the event a historic moment for both the company and fans down under. Local stars Grayson Waller and Rhea Ripley have also been involved in promoting the event, teasing a strong Australian presence on the card.

In terms of what fans can expect inside the ring, Crown Jewel 2025 will once again feature the unique Crown Jewel Championship matches. These “champion vs. champion” showdowns pit WWE’s reigning titleholders against each other to crown the best of the best. Last year, Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan became the inaugural winners, defeating GUNTHER and Nia Jax in standout bouts.

This isn’t WWE’s first foray into Perth. In 2024, the company packed out Optus Stadium for Elimination Chamber, where Ripley headlined with a title defense against Jax. That show set a strong precedent for WWE’s growing footprint in the Australian market — and Takeover Perth looks poised to build on that momentum.

Ticket details for all three events will be released in the coming weeks, but fans in Australia should be ready: WWE is bringing one of its biggest spectacles to their backyard for the first time ever.

What WWE’s Crown Jewel Move to Australia Means for Its Global Strategy

WWE’s decision to relocate Crown Jewel from Saudi Arabia to Australia in 2025 isn’t just a logistical change — it’s a strong signal about the company’s evolving global game plan under the TKO Group Holdings banner.

Since its inception in 2018, Crown Jewel has been the crown jewel (pun intended) of WWE’s long-term partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was more than just a premium live event — it was a statement, part of the company’s expansive and lucrative “WWE in the Middle East” initiative. But with the announcement that Crown Jewel 2025 will take place in Perth, Western Australia as part of Takeover Perth, WWE appears to be widening its scope with a strategic pivot.

Here’s what this could mean for the company’s international direction:

1. Diversifying Global Partnerships

WWE’s Saudi Arabia deal is still in place, and the company will likely continue holding Night of Champions or other major events in the region. But moving Crown Jewel to Australia suggests WWE wants to lessen its reliance on a single international market. By expanding marquee events into countries like Australia, they’re not just spreading financial risk — they’re also spreading opportunity.

2. Capitalizing on Hot Markets

Australia is a proven hotbed for wrestling fandom. WWE’s return to Perth in 2024 with Elimination Chamber saw strong attendance and buzz, especially with homegrown stars like Rhea Ripley and Grayson Waller featured prominently. By bringing Crown Jewel to RAC Arena, WWE is banking on a market that’s already fired up — and this time, they’re bringing Raw, SmackDown, and a PLE for a full-scale takeover.

3. Boosting the Prestige of Crown Jewel

When Crown Jewel launched, it was often criticized as a glorified exhibition show — a big-budget event without much long-term storyline impact. That perception shifted in recent years, especially with the introduction of the Crown Jewel Championship concept. Moving the event to a new continent and pairing it with core programming (like Raw and SmackDown) elevates the prestige even more, aligning it with WWE’s major four PLEs.

4. Strengthening the Retirement Tour Narrative

With John Cena confirmed for his final WWE appearance in Australia during Takeover Perth, WWE is using global tentpoles to tell a bigger story. This isn’t just about creating buzz — it’s about giving Cena’s farewell tour worldwide relevance, and there’s no better way to do that than having him headline a globally rebranded event.

5. Testing the Waters for More Global Takeovers

Takeover Perth might be the prototype for a new touring model. Pairing two live TV tapings with a major PLE in one international city over a long weekend makes production and promotion more efficient — and gives fans more incentive to travel. If this format succeeds, expect WWE to replicate it in other major markets like Canada, Germany, or even India.

The Bottom Line

Shifting Crown Jewel from Riyadh to Perth marks more than a geographic change — it’s a strategy play. WWE is clearly leaning into a more flexible, globally engaged event model, one that blends spectacle with storyline, local talent with global appeal. And with Cena’s farewell and the Crown Jewel Championships on the line, October 2025 might be the beginning of a whole new era in WWE’s international playbook.

Kairi Sane Returns At WWE Crown Jewel, Helps IYO SKY Retain WWE Women’s Championship

Kairi Sane made her long-awaited return to WWE at Crown Jewel 2023. The “Pirate Princess” surprisingly appeared to aid Iyo Sky in retaining her WWE Women’s Championship over Bianca Belair.

Sane addressed fans of STARDOM in October to announce that it could be the last time they would see her perform in the company, leading many to believe she was departing the promotion. Since then, multiple reports emerged to say that she was headed back to WWE, and it was recently indicated that she was listed on the internal roster and her return was imminent. Speculation turned to actualization during today’s event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Sane made a surprise appearance to help Sky.

Delivering her patented flying elbow drop, it was the first time Sane had been seen in a WWE ring since she faced Bayley in July 2020, serving to add another crinkle to Damage CTRL’s storyline of tension between the “Genius of the Sky” and the “Role-Model”. Sky and Sane previously held trios gold when they wrestled together in STARDOM in 2016, but are set to stand shoulder-to-shoulder for the first time in WWE. Similar to Sky, Sane boasted reigns with both the WWE Women’s Tag and “NXT” Women’s Championships before her departure in December 2021.

Logan Paul Injured At Crown Jewel, Severity Of Injuries Still Unclear

At WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, Logan Paul unsuccessfully challenged Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the YouTuber’s third match.

Following the match, Logan informed fans that he suffered several injuries in the bout, including a torn meniscus, MCL and possibly a torn ACL.

The severity of Logan Paul’s injury he suffered at WWE Crown Jewel 2022 is still unclear as he is yet to get thoroughly examined.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Logan is yet to get fully checked out.

“I got one message where they said that they didn’t know if he tore his ACL, but again, he hasn’t had it looked at. At first, he thought he did, but we’ll probably know more in a day or two. So, it may not be as bad, but it could be.”

If Paul has torn his ACL as feared, it will likely keep him out of the ring for a minimum six months.
