Chad Gable Reportedly Injured, Surgery Scheduled for July

Another name has been added to WWE’s growing list of injured stars — and this time, it’s Chad Gable.

According to a new report from PWInsider, Gable suffered an injury during a recent match with PENTA and is scheduled to undergo surgery in early July. While details about the specific nature of the injury haven’t been made public, there’s currently no confirmed timetable for his return to action.

The setback couldn’t come at a more frustrating time for Gable, who has been heavily featured on WWE programming throughout 2024. Since turning heel earlier this year, the former Olympian has found new life as the leader of the “American Made” faction — a group that has helped redefine his on-screen persona.

Gable now joins a growing list of sidelined WWE Superstars, including Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio, and Liv Morgan, all of whom are currently dealing with various injuries. With WWE in the middle of a summer stretch packed with international events and ongoing storylines, Gable’s absence could shake up some creative plans, especially if American Made was being primed for a larger push.

Gable’s in-ring talent and versatility have long made him one of WWE’s most reliable performers. Whether playing the underdog babyface or, more recently, embracing his arrogant heel persona, he’s consistently delivered in high-pressure spots.

We’ll provide updates on Gable’s condition and recovery timeline as more details become available. In the meantime, fans can only hope the “Master” of suplex precision will be back sooner rather than later.

Video: Wyatt Sicks Return To WWE Raw After Chad Gable & Creed Brothers Attack Bo Dallas

Despite the goth pomp and spooky circumstance of their arrival a month ago, The Wyatt Sicks have largely stayed away from “WWE Raw” in the weeks since, with the exception being Nikki Cross, who has been delivering packages containing the VCR tapes that featured segments from Bo Dallas and now Erick Rowan. This week, however, Cross delivered the tape prior to “Raw’s” air time, and after Rowan’s vignette aired, the entire group appeared once again, entering a WWE ring for the first time.

Earlier in the show, Chad Gable told General Manager Adam Pearce that he had solved the mystery of Uncle Howdy’s identity, confidently proclaiming it was Dallas. He then declared he would call out Dallas in the middle of the ring. Later, Gable made one last effort to persuade Otis and the rest of Alpha Academy to re-join him, but they refused. As a result, when Dallas (minus his Uncle Howdy costume) came down the ramp to answer Gable’s challenge, he wasn’t attacked from behind by Alpha Academy — he was attacked from behind by the Creed Brothers, who haven’t wrestled on “Raw” since May.

The three continued to assault Dallas, but the late Bray Wyatt’s brother only laughed. That earned him a further beating, but as Gable and the Creeds celebrated together in the ring, Dallas (who was slumped in the corner) began laughing loudly and saying “yeah, yeah, yeah”, a reference to late former Wyatt Family member Brodie Lee, known then as Luke Harper. Gable grabbed Dallas by the ears and demanded to know what he was laughing at. Dallas responded, “There you are!”

At that point, smoke began to fill the arena and the fireflies came out as the familiar music played. The Wyatt Sicks approached the ring, and Gable and The Creeds initially took fighting stances before ultimately deciding to flee. Once the rest of his new family got in the ring, Dallas dropped to his knees and threw his arms out wide, reminiscent of his late brother.

Bo Dallas Appears Backstage On WWE Raw Following Third Wyatt Sicks VHS Tape Vignette

The Wyatt Sicks continue to terrorize Chad Gable, complete with a third VHS tape delivery to commentary from Nikki Cross/Abby the Witch, after Bo Dallas revealed why the stable was going after the Alpha Academy leader in a video segment with his Uncle Howdy alter ego last week on “WWE Raw.” Last week, Dallas called Gable a “false prophet” who was belittling his family for his own gain. This week, the stable’s front man took things a step farther, appearing on “WWE Raw” for the first time without the Uncle Howdy mask since 2019 in a backstage segment.

As Gable was fighting fellow Money in the Bank ladder match contender Jey Uso following in the first match of the night, some of the lights in the arena went out while Gable had Uso in an ankle lock. Thanks to the distraction, Uso hit a spear and got the victory, then “yeeted” to the crowd and ran back in the ramp in the dark. All the lights in the arena then went out, the jarring piano tune signaling the arrival of the Wyatt Sicks began, and smoke filled the ring with Gable still in it. Cross/Abby then rose from underneath the ring once again, and Gable followed Uso up the ramp in complete darkness while the apparation once again put the box on the commentary desk, to be played later on the show.

When Michael Cole threw to the video from the commentary desk later in the night, Dallas delivered a monologue to the camera about his new family. He said he took in those that “no one wanted,” the discarded and forgotten. He said he gave them a purpose.

“They are so happy you remembered them,” Dallas said, as the video cut from the Firefly Funhouse characters to those who portray them behind the masks. Huskus the Pig was officially revealed to be the former Joe Gacy; Mercy the Buzzard, Dexter Lumis; Rambling Rabbit, Erick Rowan; and Abby the Witch, Nikki Cross.

“For grief is the price we pay for love,” Dallas can be heard saying as the video cut between characters. “So now we must set the captives free, so they need no master.”

The video of Dallas then kept cutting to show him as Uncle Howdy as he delivered the line, “Do you think we are sick?” and the over-modulated voice of Howdy from the tapes of weeks prior responded, “Yes, I do.”

“Then sick is what we’ll be,” Dallas said.

After the video, the broadcast cut to Gable backstage with “Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce. Gable lamented to Pearce that he was being targeted by the Wyatt Sicks, to which Pearce responded, “If they’re coming after you, did you stop and think why that might be?” Gable said he would deal with the Wyatt Sicks himself. Pearce turned to walk into his office, where he found Dallas waiting for him. The last thing viewers saw was Pearce walking into his office and shutting the door.

Wyatt Sicks Return To Haunt Chad Gable, Deliver More Of Bo Dallas’ Story On WWE Raw

The Wyatt Sicks continues to scare Chad Gable and make fans question their motives after appearing in the opening segment of Monday’s episode of “WWE Raw.” Money in the Bank ladder match contender Jey Uso opened up the show, but was interrupted by Gable and the pair faced off, arguing about their respective families and stables, as well as the Wyatt Sicks, before beating each other down.

Gable rolled out of the ring before Uso could hit his signature splash, but the lights in the arena went dark and the familiar piano tune signaling the Wyatt Sicks’ arrival began. The camera swung around and revealed that Uso was no longer in the ring, and smoke began filling the area. Gable hopped the barricade and started backing away into the crowd, but encountered the former Joe Gacy as Huskus the Pig, Dexter Lumis as Mercy the Buzzard, and Erick Rowan as Ramblin’ Rabbit, all backlit and menacing as Gable continued to attempt to escape. He jumped another barricade and ran up the steps of the arena, as the broadcast cut down to ringside, avoiding another implied beatdown by the stable.

Abby the Witch, formerly known as Nikki Cross, appeared in the fog and gave Michael Cole another VHS tape that was revealed to say “play me” on the side when the commentator revealed it later to the audience. Last week’s tape featured Bo Dallas seemingly holding a therapy session with himself, speaking to his Uncle Howdy character about his late brother, Bray Wyatt, whose ideas the Wyatt Sicks stable was based on.

When the taped was played on “Raw,” it showed Uncle Howdy and Dallas once again seated across from each other in what appeared to be the Firefly Funhouse. Dallas asked Howdy how much longer they were going to keep “doing this,” and why they were even there. Howdy then Dallas if he honestly believed he brought him to life, to which Dallas responded he was “destined to do this.” He told Howdy that they are the ones that “everybody wanted to forget about.”

The most important part of the interaction came when Dallas said the other members of the Wyatt Sicks weren’t chosen, just willing, and they’ve become a family. Dallas seemed to imply that the faction is going after Gable for a reason.

“Even now, the false prophets parade, belittling their family for their own gain,” Dallas said. “It’s disgusting. They must pay for their sins.”

Howdy asked Dallas why he thought it was his responsibility, to which Dallas replied, “I am the voice of the reckoning,” and Howdy quickly responded, “I am the reckoning.”

The video then cut to Howdy and Dallas seemingly forming together, repeating the phrases, “I am nobody,” “I am all of us,” “I freed them from the cave,” and “I gave them family.” As they chanted, Howdy disappeared and fans only saw Dallas sitting in the Funhouse by himself. Howdy then reappeared and Dallas was then gone. “There you are,” Dallas’ voice said to end the video tape.

Chad Gable Confirms He Re-Signed With WWE

Chad Gable has decided to remain with WWE, as he received a favorable offer from the company after his contract expired last week.

It was widely believed that Gable was close to reaching an agreement with WWE, and it has now been confirmed that he will be staying with the company.

When asked about his contract status in an interview with The Gorilla Position, Gable confirmed he re-signed with the company.

Chad Gable is competing against Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship today at Clash at the Castle.

Latest Update On Chad Gable’s WWE Contract

Chad Gable is the latest in a long line of WWE stars who are all set to be out of contract over the summer. The former NXT Tag Team Champion has been enjoying his highest position on the card as of late, but recent reports have suggested he might technically be a free agent by the time he challenges Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at Clash at the Castle on June 15.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it seems that Gable’s days in WWE aren’t numbered, as the company is of the belief that he will be staying put. Like many high-profile free agents, there had been reported interest from AEW, with Meltzer noting that stars like FTR had pushed hard to try and bring Gable to AEW given their history with the Olympian and his former tag team partner Jason Jordan in American Alpha. However, it seems as if Gable was offered something that was too good to turn down, and that a new deal will be either be signed in the coming days, or has potentially already been signed.

This follows earlier reports from sources like Fightful Select and PWInsider that suggested that the Olympian would be staying with WWE, and that even though there was no official confirmation on whether he had put pen to paper, the belief within both WWE and AEW was that he wasn’t going anywhere. If Gable defeats Zayn in Glasgow, Scotland on June 15, not only will that be the ultimate sign that Gable isn’t going anywhere, but it will also be the first singles title he will have won in WWE, with his previous four championship wins all being as part of a tag team.

Backstage Update On WWE Contract Status Of Chad Gable Ahead Of Clash At The Castle

Chad Gable has been a central topic of conversation, not only on WWE television but also behind the scenes, where the off-screen drama surrounding Gable’s contract with WWE has begun to overshadow his rise to mid-card title contention on screen.

According to Fightful Select, Gable’s contract was said to expire this past Friday, June 7, but the former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion was announced for a match at the upcoming Clash at the Castle event in Scotland. While that would lead many to assume he’d re-signed with the company, there has been no confirmation of Gable putting pen to paper. There have been reports of wrestlers working on per-appearance deals with WWE during the immense contract turnaround currently taking place, though there is no word on whether Gable is one of those rumored to be per-appearance. There are sources within both AEW and WWE who are already under the assumption Gable has re-signed with the company.

According to PWInsider Elite, Gable and WWE are close to terms at the very least and Gable will remain with WWE for the foreseeable future. Like Fightful, there is no confirmation one way or the other, but sources indicate both Gable and WWE are carrying on as if his retention is a done deal.

Gable has become a prominent figure on WWE programming, as he heads into WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland, where he will face WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, with whom Gable has been feuding since just after WrestleMania in April. Gable’s contract is just one of many that are up for expiration, including former WWE Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch, as well as former WWE Speed Champion Ricochet, who is reportedly set to be written off WWE television on “WWE Raw.”

WWE Reportedly Made “Excellent Offer” To Chad Gable

Chad Gable’s WWE contract expired today. He’s expected to get interest from many different promotions. WWE is interested in re-signing him.

It is said that there will be a strong push from talent in various outside companies to vouch for him to be signed. He has been heavily featured on TV as of late as the leader of Alpha Academy as he undergoes a heel turn.

Dave Meltzer reported the following in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

“Both AEW and WWE have interest in Gable. The only thing we’ve heard is that WWE has made an excellent offer to keep him. AEW is not allowed legally to make an offer until his WWE deal expires. He does have key people in AEW pushing him to Tony Khan. Gable would have to allow his contract to expire to get an offer. He’s also in the middle of the best singles push of his career right now.”

Bryan then introduced Benjamin and told them that they would team up on next week’s SmackDown from North Little Rock, Arkansas.
