The new documentary about Andre the Giant premieres tonight on HBO at 10:00 p.m. Eastern (9:00 CT), a documentary produced alongside WWE.

Andre The Giant‘s larger than life story will be told in a new documentary produced by Bill Simmons and HBO, who released the movie’s first trailer on Friday.
The flick will be called He Was a God and the 30-second teaser features a voiceover saying, “He was at once a real human, but at the same a mythological figure.”
Andre’s doc was announced back in February with Simmons attached as an executive producer on the project — WWE is involved as well — and will be utilizing “never-before-seen footage.”
He Was a God is set to debut in Spring 2018.

“The Eighth Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant is getting his own HBO documentary … and it’ll be produced by 30 for 30 creator Bill Simmons.
WWE announced yesterday that they’re partnering with HBO Sports to produce “ANDRE THE GIANT, a documentary film examining the life and career of one of the most beloved legends in WWE history.”
Simmons will serve as executive producer.
The synopsis for the flick says it will “combine never-before-seen footage and revealing interviews for a comprehensive and intimate portrait of one of WWE’s most beloved, yet largely unknown figures.”
WWE Superstars, sports and entertainment executive, athletes, media, family, friends and associates will all be interviewed for the documentary.
