Bully Ray – ‘AEW Shouldn’t Be Announcing Matches For All In 2023’

Fans should go into the much-anticipated AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event without an idea as to what matches are taking place, according to Bully Ray.

The August 27th show will be AEW’s most-attended event in the promotion’s history, as well as the company’s first event outside of North America.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray shared why he feels fans should go into the event totally blind. He said,

“You’ve already put 77,000 people in the house. Every match, every entrance becomes a surprise. To me, you’re sitting on the edge of your seat. It’s almost like a Royal Rumble over an entire show. “

I think this is the show where people at home don’t need to know anything. They’re gonna buy it no matter what, otherwise they’ll suffer from FOMO. I think the excitement of not knowing anything draws me in more.”

Despite Ray’s suggestion, this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw the main event of All In 2023 be announced – AEW World Champion MJF vs. Adam Cole for the title.

Jamie Hayter Could Miss AEW All In Due To Injury

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter hasn’t competed in a match since May when she lost her title to Toni Storm at Double Or Nothing. Since then, she’s been sidelined with an injury suffered around that time and while talk of her recovery timeline has stayed relatively quiet, it’s very possible she may not be back in time for AEW’s biggest show to date.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been conversations that she won’t be ready as AEW travels to London for All In at the end of August. The highly anticipated Wembley Stadium show currently has no matches announced, but with over 74,000 tickets sold, AEW will have all eyes of the wrestling world on it to see what kind of show it’s able to put on at such a great scale.

Hayter is one of the few British wrestlers on the AEW roster, so it makes sense that Tony Khan would like to book one of the hometown heroes from the U.K. on the show. This is one of the reasons why the likely inclusion of Will Ospreay at All In is such an attractive option.

Hayter had been feuding against The Outcasts at the time of her injury, with the women’s faction credited for causing it on television. That still opens up the possibility for all sorts of vengeance upon her return, especially with Toni Storm still walking around with that belt around her waist. A confrontation between Hayter and Saraya — both from the U.K. — would have been massive at Wembley, and is something the latter admitted she wanted to happen. But all of those may be off the table as All In swiftly approaches and Hayter’s return looks no closer.

Tony Khan Gives Update On AEW All In Ticket Sales

Appearing on The Green Zone, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 27 and how ticket sales are doing currently. 

WrestleTix recently reported the current setup is for close to 88,000 butts in seats.

“It’s about 70,000 tickets sold for about $9 million US in ticket sales for that one show in London at Wembley Stadium. It’s going to be a massive event. We are opening more seats up for that,” Khan stated.

There are still no matches that have been announced yet.

Update On AEW All In: London Ticket Sales, Could Set All-Time Attendance Record For a Paid Wrestling Show

All Elite Wrestling is gearing up to put on one of the most highly-attended shows in wrestling history next month with AEW All In, and according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there’s a chance the show could break the all-time “verified attendance” record set by WWE WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

AEW All In: London is continuing to sell tickets.

According to The Wrestling Observer and Fightful, AEW All In at Wembley Stadium is now up to 75,030 tickets distributed with “about” 68,000 sold. The stadium is now currently setup to seat a total of 87,825 fans

It was just this past Tuesday, WrestleTix had reported that the event was up to 74,888 tickets distributed.

AEW All In: London is scheduled for Sunday, August 27. AEW still has yet to officially announce any matches for the event.

AEW would need to sell about 6,000 more tickets to break WrestleMania 32’s total attendance record, which seems well within the range of possibility for the four-year-old wrestling promotion. However, Meltzer believes it’s unlikely that the company will reach the paid attendance record of 79,800 people.

All In will be AEW’s first event outside North America, with wrestling fans from across Europe making their way to the United Kingdom to experience the company’s continental debut. Details on how fans at home can watch All In have yet to be announced, with AEW President Tony Khan stating back in May that a deal was still being worked out. Just one week after the massive London event, AEW is planning to hold its annual All Out pay-per-view in Chicago, Illinois, making the waning days of summer a very busy time for wrestling fans.

Current Capacity Setup For AEW All In

AEW will make its UK debut in London, England at Wembley Stadium, where they will hold the All In 2023 pay-per-view event on August 27. The venue can hold up to 90,000 fans.

The pre-sale tickets went on sale last week and sold 50,000 tickets before the general sale tickets went on sale, where they sold over 60,000 tickets. 

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that 65,000 tickets have already been sold for the event.

The current setup allows for a capacity of 74,000 fans, but if AEW manages to reach that target, the promotion will open up more seats.

Tony Khan made his “major announcement” on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

For the first time in the history of All Elite Wrestling, the company will be coming to the UK on August 27. And it’s not just any AEW show – it’ll be the All In 2023 pay-per-view event. The event will take place at Wembley Stadium, which can hold over 80,000 fans for wrestling. Tickets for the event will be going on sale in May.

During tonight’s live episode of “AEW: Dynamite” from Long Island, NY, AEW CEO Tony Khan, star Adam Cole and host Nigel McGuinness announced that AEW’s highly anticipated UK debut will take place in London at the iconic Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 27. “AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium” marks AEW’s first show outside of North America, and the first time that professional wrestling has taken center stage at Wembley Stadium in more than 30 years.

Tickets for “AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium” go on sale to the general public Monday, May 5 at 9 a.m. BST. Effective immediately, fans in the UK can pre-register for early access to event tickets at ticketmaster.co.uk/AEWWembley. Pre-registered access and priority presales will take place prior to the general on-sale date. Beginning May 5, tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.co.uk/AEWWembley.

This announcement comes on the heels of AEW’s tremendous growth in TV viewership in the UK, with AEW programming serving as the highest ratings driver for men ages 16-34 on ITV4 since the start of 2022. AEW reached 2.8 million men on ITV platforms in 2022 and began 2023 by increasing that reach by another 45 percent among men ages 16-34. “AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium” is far from the Khan Family’s first foray into London or the legendary venue. Shahid Khan is Chairman of Fulham Football Club, which earned promotion to the English Premier League with playoff wins at Wembley Stadium in both 2018 and 2020.

The elder Khan is also owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have regularly hosted a home game at the stadium since 2013 and will return once again during the 2023 National Football League season for a ninth game at Wembley.

“AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium,” which will be a homecoming for several top stars including AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter, Saraya, Nigel McGuinness, Pac, Anthony Ogogo and more, will be produced in conjunction with Live Nation Entertainment.
