Can Kanellis defeat Tozawa at his own game?
Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa is no stranger to No Disqualification and Falls Count Anywhere Matches. In fact, some of the most memorable matches in WWE 205 Live history have involved The Stamina Monster stopping at nothing to defeat the likes of his rival-turned-ally The Brian Kendrick. However, as Mike Kanellis looks to rack up some wins and prove that he belongs at the top of WWE 205 Live, his rivalry with Tozawa has reached dangerous levels.
Last week, The Opportunist attacked Kendrick as The Man with a Plan made his way to the ring, leading to a wild brawl between Tozawa and Kanellis that raged until they were separated by WWE officials. The incident was just the latest in a tit-for-tat struggle between the two Superstars that has often involved Kanellis’ wife Maria and Kendrick.
Now Tozawa and Kanellis look to settle the score in a No Disqualification Match. Can Kanellis prove his mettle – without the aid of his wife – against a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, or will The Stamina Monster silence his nemesis for good? Tune in to WWE 205 Live at 10/9 C, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network!
Last night’s WWE 205 Live episode saw The Singh Brothers return to the brand. They lost the opener to The Lucha House Party but indicated that they have returned to the show to stay. WWE officially moved the profiles for Samir Singh and Sunil Singh from the SmackDown roster to the 205 Live roster. They were just moved from RAW to SmackDown last week. The brothers tweeted the following after last night’s loss:

Daivari sets his sights on Championship gold
Returning from an injury late last year and aligning himself with Hideo Itami, Ariya Daivari has a new attitude and outlook regarding his in-ring career. His alliance with Itami eventually came to a bitter end, but Daivari has since enjoyed a string of impressive victories, including a huge win against former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. Continuing to build on his 2019 undefeated streak, Daivari defeated Oney Lorcan last week to claim a championship opportunity.
The Persian Lion’s rise and recent success mirrors that of WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese. Befriending and training with former titleholder Buddy Murphy paid dividends for The Premier Athlete, as he too enjoyed a huge string of success, winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament and defeating Murphy for the title on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Daivari is Nese’s first challenger since The Premier Athlete captured the championship. Will Daivari continue his undefeated streak and end The Premier Athlete’s reign?

Step into Gulak’s classroom
Two weeks ago, a match between Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Humberto Carrillo ended with an irate Drew Gulak attacking Carrillo for using high-flying maneuvers, but Gallagher came to the defense of the Mexican Superstar by leveling his longtime ally with a resounding headbutt. Gulak was sent careening out of the ring and was left reeling following Gallagher’s strike – which The Philadelphia Stretcher called “treason” – but Gulak is still determined to continue teaching Carrillo a lesson.
Tonight, Gulak will aim to show Carrillo the path to a better WWE 205 Live, as the two Superstars will clash. But which side is Gallagher on?

As previously noted, WWE will begin airing SmackDown Live on the FOX Network each Friday Night starting October 4, 2019. FOX Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier described the move as “short term” back in February, but since then, there have been few details to explain what he exactly meant.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that there is now talk within the WWE to potentially add a third hour to SmackDown once it makes the transition over to Friday nights on FOX. The feeling among higher ups is that since they have to continue filming for 205 Live, a show that never grew as successful as WWE hoped, it may be beneficial to do the expected first two hours from 8 pm – 10 pm on FOX and then continue from 10 pm – 11 pm on FOX’s affiliate, FS1.
WWE can reportedly gain upwards of $50,000,000 a year from FOX if this is the route they ultimately choose to take. It is by no means a done deal at this point, but the momentum backstage apparently has people within the financial community expecting this aspect of the deal to come together.
It was noted how there wasn’t much discussion about doing a three hour show until FS1 lost it’s UFC programming to the multi-year deal between ESPN and UFC. Adding more WWE programming could be one way that FOX can potentially counter that loss.
