Rey Mysterio Returns to Raw, Draws the Line with Dominik Over “King of the Luchadores” Claim

After weeks of speculation, the legendary Rey Mysterio made his long-awaited return to WWE Raw last night — and he didn’t waste time making a statement. The WWE Hall of Famer, back from a groin injury, confronted his son, Dominik Mysterio, who has been riding high as both the Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion.

Dominik kicked off the segment in classic fashion, bragging about his recent victories over Rusev and Penta at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Declaring himself the “King of the Luchadores,” Dominik claimed to have surpassed not only his father but the entire lucha libre tradition. That’s when Rey’s music hit, and the arena erupted.

Rey, clearly emotional, told his son that while he could boast about championships all he wanted, calling himself “King of the Luchadores” was crossing a sacred line. The elder Mysterio reminded Dominik that such a title carries generations of history — invoking names like El Santo and Eddie Guerrero — and accused his son of disrespecting their heritage.

Dominik didn’t back down, firing back that there’s one luchador he knows he’s better than — his own father. Rey, refusing to let the insult stand, removed his jacket, ready to throw down. Tensions hit a boiling point when Dominik took a swing, only for Rey to block the punch and connect with a flurry of his own. Moments later, the WWE Universe was on its feet as Rey nailed his son with a 619. He went to the top rope for a frog splash, but Dominik wisely rolled out of the ring before his father could seal the moment.

Rey Mysterio’s message was loud and clear: as long as he’s around, Dominik may hold gold, but he’ll never be the true “King of the Luchadores.”

With Rey officially back in action, it looks like the Mysterio family war is far from over — and this chapter might be the most personal one yet.

Candice LeRae Reportedly Preparing For New Chapter Behind The Scenes In WWE

After more than two decades of competing inside the ring, it looks like Candice LeRae is preparing for the next phase of her WWE career — and this time, it’s happening behind the curtain.

According to a new report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, LeRae has begun training to become a backstage producer. She’s reportedly already taken on producing duties for matches on WWE Main Event, marking a major transition from her long run as an active performer.

In recent months, LeRae’s on-screen role had shifted primarily to managing her husband, Johnny Gargano, alongside Tommaso Ciampa in their #DIY reunion. Despite the trio’s popularity, LeRae has struggled to maintain a steady in-ring presence, appearing in only a handful of matches on SmackDown throughout 2025.

This new direction puts her in good company, joining a growing list of former WWE competitors who have successfully transitioned into producing roles — including Molly Holly, Robert Roode, and Shane Helms, all of whom have played key parts in shaping the product fans see each week.

Before stepping into this new position, LeRae had still been active within the company, working select NXT live events and occasional Main Event tapings over the summer. She also made appearances at several of WWE’s biggest Premium Live Events this year, including the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Evolution.

While her in-ring future remains uncertain, LeRae’s move backstage ensures her experience and knowledge will continue to impact WWE programming. Given her 22-year career on the independent scene and in WWE, she brings a veteran perspective that could help develop the next generation of women’s wrestling talent.

It’s not uncommon for performers to find a second career behind the scenes, and if LeRae’s history is any indication, she’ll approach producing with the same passion and professionalism that made her one of the most respected names in women’s wrestling.

John Cena Announces “The Last Time Is Now” Tournament To Decide His Final Opponent

The Last Time Is Now Tournament to determine John Cena’s last ever opponent at next months SNME was announced.

John Cena might not have stepped foot in the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, but the 16-time world champion made headlines anyway — dropping a major bombshell via video message that sets the stage for his in-ring farewell.

For weeks, fans have been speculating who would share the ring with Cena one last time when he wrestles his final match this December on Peacock. But in classic Cena fashion, the veteran threw everyone a curveball: he won’t be choosing his last opponent himself. Instead, a new tournament called “The Last Time Is Now” will determine who earns the honor.

According to Cena, 16 competitors will enter the bracket, with names being drawn from across Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and — intriguingly — even outside WWE. That last tease immediately got fans buzzing, given WWE’s recent working relationship with TNA. Could we see a crossover appearance from someone like a TNA standout? Cena didn’t confirm anything, but he certainly left the door wide open.

During the video, clips flashed across the screen featuring several potential entrants, including GUNTHER, Carmelo Hayes, Dominik Mysterio, Bronson Reed, and even AEW’s Penta El Zero Miedo — suggesting the possibilities might go well beyond WWE’s walls.

The tournament kicks off on the November 10 edition of Monday Night Raw — fittingly taking place in Cena’s hometown of Boston, Massachusetts. WWE is already billing that episode as Cena’s final appearance in the city that helped make him a star.

Cena’s farewell match will then headline Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., marking what’s expected to be an emotional end to one of the most storied careers in wrestling history.

Whether his final opponent ends up being a long-time rival or a rising star, “The Last Time Is Now” promises to be a celebration of Cena’s legacy — and one final showcase of the man who truly made the WWE Universe never give up.

Rotunda Family Sets the Record Straight on Mike Rotunda’s Health

The wrestling world has been sending love and prayers to WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda after concerning reports surfaced earlier this week — but his family has now issued an official statement to clear the air about his condition.

Former tag team partner Barry Windham sparked confusion on Tuesday when he mentioned that Rotunda had entered hospice care. However, the Rotunda Family has since confirmed that this is not accurate. According to a statement shared by Mika Rotunda on social media Wednesday, Mike is currently in a rehabilitation facility, continuing to recover from a massive heart attack he suffered on September 20.

“My father is not in hospice, but rather in a rehabilitation center,” Mika wrote. “He suffered a massive heart attack on September 20, was in a coma for a week, and spent over a month hospitalized. By the grace of God, he has now transitioned to a rehabilitation center, where our family remains present, hopeful, and focused on his recovery.”

The family’s message also cleared up how the misunderstanding began, explaining that Barry Windham misspoke while answering a question during an interview and did not intend to spread incorrect information.

Despite making progress, Rotunda still faces a long road to recovery. His family emphasized that his trademark strength, work ethic, and athleticism will be crucial in helping him heal, and they asked for privacy as he continues his rehabilitation.

Mike Rotunda — known to WWE fans as Irwin R. Schyster (IRS) — is not only a Hall of Famer but also the patriarch of one of wrestling’s most beloved families. His sons, Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, both made their marks in WWE, with Dallas currently leading the Wyatt Sicks faction. Sadly, Bray Wyatt passed away in 2023, but his influence continues to be felt across the wrestling world.

The Rotunda family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from fans and colleagues alike. As Mike continues his recovery journey, the wrestling community remains united in wishing him a full and steady return to health.

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi is on the road to recovery after undergoing emergency surgery, and he’s expressing nothing but gratitude in the aftermath.

The beloved Samoan legend — father to WWE stars Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa — took to Instagram to update fans on his condition. In an emotional post, Rikishi shared a photo with family and wrote:

“God is amazing. Grateful to be alive. We share blessings today and forever more. I’m proud of my boys (missing few more) #FatuAnoai Stay safe and know there’s more work to do.”
