ROH Death Before Dishonor 2025 Results

Ring of Honor presented Death Before Dishonor 2025, a night filled with title changes and standout performances. The card, which aired for free on YouTube after some early technical hiccups, delivered plenty of memorable moments for ROH fans. Here’s a rundown of the action.

Pre-Show

  • Jay Lethal def. Jordan Oliver
    Veteran vs. up-and-comer kicked things off. Oliver nearly stole one with a slick roll-up, but Lethal regained control, punishing the leg with dragon screw whips before locking in the Figure Four. With no escape in sight, Oliver was forced to tap.
  • MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden) def. Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) and Griff Garrison & Cole Karter
    A wild three-way tag match saw Dark Order firing up late, even hitting their signature combo on Mansoor. Just as Reynolds had a pin secured, Johnny TV sprayed “Seed” perfume in his eyes, allowing Mansoor to steal the win.
  • After his win, Lethal’s night wasn’t done — Blake Christian and Lee Johnson interrupted to remind everyone that Christian already owns a win over him. They vowed to take out more ROH legends when they meet The Kingdom.
  • Billie Starkz def. Ashley Vox (Pure Rules Match)
    Starkz mixed her usual offense with the Pure Rules system, even landing a closed fist that earned her a referee warning. Vox fought with heart, but Starkz ultimately sealed it with a nasty backbreaker.
  • $50,000 Four-Way: Dralistico def. Adam Priest, Angelico & AR Fox
    Dralistico survived a chaotic sprint, wiping out everyone (including Serpentico on the floor) before nailing Angelico with a flying Codebreaker to claim the cash prize.

  • Tomohiro Ishii & Hologram def. Ari Daivari & Tony Nese
  • ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Shane Taylor Promotions def. The Sons of Texas (Sammy Guevara, Ross & Marshall Von Erich)
    Shane Taylor, Shawn Dean, and Carlie Bravo captured the gold in a hard-fought clash, cutting short Guevara and the Von Erichs’ reign.
  • Women’s Pure Championship Tournament Quarterfinal: Queen Aminata def. Taya Valkyrie
    Aminata advanced in the inaugural tournament, knocking off the veteran Valkyrie to move one step closer to the historic title.
  • Blake Christian & Lee Johnson def. The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)
    Christian and Johnson backed up their pre-show words with a big victory over the decorated Kingdom.
  • ROH Pure Championship: Lee Moriarty (c) def. Xelhua
    Technical wrestling at its finest. Xelhua burned through all three rope breaks before finding himself trapped in Moriarty’s octopus hold. With nowhere to go, the luchador submitted, keeping the title around Moriarty’s waist.
  • Fight Without Honor: QT Marshall def. Paul Walter Hauser
    Hollywood clashed with hardcore in a brutal showdown. Hauser bled and battled through kendo stick shots and even a terrifying powerbomb on thumbtacks. Hook made a surprise appearance to neutralize Aaron Solo, but in the end, QT survived a low blow and nailed an avalanche cutter through a glass-covered table for the win. Post-match, QT showed respect by fist-bumping the bloodied actor.
  • ROH World Tag Team Championship: Sammy Guevara & Rush def. The Outrunners
    Rush was revealed as Guevara’s mystery partner, and the two captured the tag gold. After surviving a late Outrunners rally, Rush hit the Bull’s Horns before Guevara sealed the win with a dive. The celebration turned sour when Guevara betrayed the Von Erichs with a superkick, as LFI laid waste to the brothers.
  • ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) def. Hechicero
    In what many will call the match of the night, Bandido and Hechicero put on a near half-hour masterpiece. After countering each other’s signature moves, Bandido finally caught the technical wizard with a bridging German suplex to retain. A must-watch bout for ROH fans.
  • ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) def. Mina Shirakawa
    The main event was a 25-minute war. With The Blue Meanie briefly involved in some early antics, things turned serious as both women targeted injuries — Mina’s hand, Athena’s knee. Shirakawa nearly scored the upset with a Mina Driver, but Athena powered through with a straitjacket powerbomb and sealed the deal with the O-Face. “The Fallen Goddess” continues her dominant reign as the “Forever Champion.”

Dustin Rhodes Facing Double Knee Replacement, ROH Championship Future in Question

Veteran wrestler Dustin Rhodes has revealed that he’s heading into double knee replacement surgery later this month. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the 56-year-old star shared that both of his knees are “destroyed” and that he’ll be undergoing the procedure on August 21st.

“They can’t actually fix the damage, so we are getting two knee replacements,” Rhodes wrote. “Damn! #KeepSteppin … By the way… this is NOT THE END.”

Rhodes had recently mentioned needing “major” surgery, and now the specifics are confirmed. According to Fightful, he is expected to be out of action for the remainder of 2025.

The announcement comes just days after Rhodes dropped the TNT Championship to Kyle Fletcher on AEW Collision, where Fletcher launched a post-match assault on Rhodes. That loss capped a brief but emotional title run for Rhodes, who captured the belt at AEW All In: Texas in July.

With his surgery now scheduled and recovery time looming, serious questions are being raised about the status of the titles Rhodes still holds in Ring of Honor. He’s currently one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside Sammy Guevara and also holds the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles with Ross and Marshall Von Erich.

ROH has yet to comment on what will happen with either set of championships. Their next major event, Supercard of Honor, is set for August 23 at the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia—just two days after Rhodes goes under the knife.

While the road to recovery won’t be short, Rhodes made it clear that this isn’t the end of his in-ring journey. Given his decades-long resilience and enduring fan support, it’s hard to count out The Natural.

ROH Death Before Dishonor Rescheduled Once Again — Now Set for August 29

Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view has shifted dates yet again.

During this past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, it was revealed that the annual ROH event will now take place on Friday, August 29, a change from the previously announced date of Friday, September 5. Despite the shuffle, the venue remains locked in — Philadelphia’s iconic 2300 Arena will still host the show.

This latest move marks the second time the event has been rescheduled. Death Before Dishonor was originally slated for July 11, but AEW/ROH officials pushed it back without much explanation. As with the previous change, no official reason was provided for this latest adjustment.

With the event now set for late August, fans are hoping this will be the final word on the date. Death Before Dishonor has long been a key event on the ROH calendar, and after multiple shifts, there’s plenty of buzz about what Tony Khan and company have planned for this year’s card.

Report: Red Velvet Suffers Neck Injury During CMLL-NJPW Event in Mexico

ROH Women’s Television Champion Red Velvet is reportedly dealing with a neck injury sustained during her recent appearance at the joint AEW-NJPW-CMLL show in Mexico City — a setback that has already shaken up Ring of Honor’s women’s division.

On the June 22 event at Arena Mexico, Velvet squared off against CMLL’s Kira in a non-title match that kicked off the night. Though Velvet picked up the win in under 10 minutes, it appears the victory came at a price. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Velvet suffered the injury during that bout.

While the exact severity of the neck issue hasn’t been confirmed, AEW President Tony Khan recently announced that Velvet would be sidelined and unable to compete at Supercard of Honor. In fact, the situation was serious enough for Khan to introduce an interim Women’s TV Champion — a title now held by Mina Shirakawa, who captured it at Friday’s event. With Shirakawa in place, Velvet’s first match back — whenever that may be — seems all but set.

Velvet’s journey in AEW began back in 2020, where she made headlines stepping in for Brandi Rhodes in the highly publicized mixed tag match featuring Jade Cargill and Shaquille O’Neal. After a rocky rivalry with Cargill — including multiple losses — Velvet eventually joined forces with her as part of The Baddies stable. An injury later sidelined Velvet, and Cargill’s eventual move to WWE left Velvet to carve her own path in ROH, where she became the second-ever Women’s TV Champion last July.

Now, with her in-ring future momentarily on hold, fans will have to wait and see how long Velvet is out — and how this injury reshapes the landscape of the ROH women’s division.

Abadon Confirms AEW Departure as Contract Set to Expire in June

After years of carving out a unique niche in All Elite Wrestling, Abadon has confirmed she’ll be parting ways with the company once her contract expires next month.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, the “Living Dead Girl” revealed that her AEW deal will not be renewed, marking the end of her run with the promotion. Though she hasn’t appeared on AEW television since December 2023, Abadon remained active throughout the first half of 2024 with multiple appearances on Ring of Honor programming.

Here’s what she had to say:

“My time with AEW is coming to an end. My contract expires in June and I will not be renewed. The emotions I’m currently trying to manage are incredibly difficult and full of conflict as I reflect on my time there.

My goal is to not let this be it for me, because I love wrestling too much to just stop. I’ve put in a lot of hard work that I will now be able to showcase more often.

Abadon debuted with AEW in 2020 and quickly gained attention for her horror-inspired character work and hard-hitting in-ring style. Her statement makes it clear that this isn’t the end of her wrestling journey. Abadon’s commitment to training and her passion for the business suggest that she’s far from finished — and now, with the freedom of free agency ahead, she’ll have more opportunities to showcase her talent on new stages.
