Ronda Rousey injuries.

20140706-104404.jpg

Don’t let the headline scare you. Rousey did indeed sustain injuries last night in her title defense against Alexis Davis but nothing to serious. The 1st being a hand injury. Apparently Rousey has been working with this injury for quite sometime. She’s had it ever since before her fight with Sarah Mcmann in February. Rousey says in her last two fight camps she kept ripping her knuckle open and she wrapped it up dismissing it as nothing serious. She admits she should’ve taken it more seriously because the ripping of the knuckles eventually became a cyst. With the punches she landed on Davis the cyst popped requiring the champ to get 9 stitches. Rousey now says she hopes the cyst is gone now but will be going to the doctor to get it checked out

The 2nd injury isn’t a injury rather then a precautionary measure After years of combat she’s going to get her knee scoped out. She says its nothing serious but it’s more of maitnence she needs to be doing. In a post fight interview last night she says she expects to be out for four weeks. She also had this to say about her injuries. “It’s my right hand and my right knee. It’s cool I’m left handed anyway”

UFC 175 results

20140706-101059.jpg

UFC 175 took place from Las Vegas Nevada at Mandalay Bay Casino (last night on July 5th) with it being fight week and all it was sure to be an exciting card and I gotta say it indeed delivered. There were two titles on the line. The middleweight title and the women’s batemweight title. The 1st title defense featured Ronda Rousey (C) vs Alexis Davis, in a bout that lasted an astonishing 16 secs! Rousey came out swinging and hit Davis with an overhand right which by this time Davis was already rocked. Rousey then delivered one of her infamous judo throws followed up by a series of punches to the face of Davis which called for a stoppage by the referee.

In the second title bout we saw Chris Weidman (C) vs Lyoto Machida. Let me just say this fight was an AMAZING thrill ride. The bout went all 5 rounds, the first two easily belonging to Weidman the third and forth could’ve been anyone’s game and the 5th had Machida finishing strong. In the end the judges scored it as a unanimous decision in the favor of weidman.

So there you have it both Americans retained their titles last night in champion like fashion.

Other note notable mentions goes to Stefan Struve and Matt Mitrione their bout was called off when (the returning Struve) blacked out in the locker room.
Another stand out fight for me would be the one between Uriah Hall and Thiago Santos in which Uriah won via unanimous decision dispute a broken toe that was sticking outside of the skin. That’s a heart of a true fighter
forsure. You can check out the full results here

All and all I really did enjoy this card even if the main reason why I paid only lasted 16 secs. What did you guys think? Did you enjoy UFC175? Let us know.

Rousey vs Davis (in photos)

The co main event last night at UFC175 featured the undefeated UFC women’s Batemweight champion Ronda Rousey defending her title against challenger Alexis Davis. Now for this fight I hope nobody went to use the restroom or went to get snacks because by the time you would’ve gotten back to your tv it would’ve been over. In fact the walk out entrances were longer then the actual fight itself! The fight lasted all of 16 secs! With Rousey picking up the win via TKO. This is Rousey’s 2nd TKO win of her career and the fastest bout she’s ever had while competing in the UFC. I will be doing another post later about UFC175 as a whole but for now please enjoy these pictures of Rousey vs Davis

Rousey vs Cyborg?? Will we EVER see it

20140628-202419.jpg

The war of words continues between women’s batemweight champion Ronda Rousey and Chris cyborg. This week in a media lunch in to promote UFC175 when asked about a potential fight with chis cyborg the champ had some choice words to say about Cyborg. She said: “if cyborg wants to get her ass beat she knows where I’m at”
You can check out what else she had to say about the potential fight here via Pro MMA Now http://prommanow.com/2014/06/28/rousey-if-cyborg-wants-to-come-get-her-ass-beat-she-knows-where-im-at/

You guys may recall that cyborg left the UFC only 24 hours after they announced random out of completion drug testing. Cyborg even tested positive for steroid usage when she was in strikeforce. Cyborg has also said it could be potentially life threatening for her to drop from 145 to 135.

Now let me just say this if its soooo dangerous why does she keep running her mouth about Rousey.. Even to an extent where she called herself a horse tamer and wore a shirt that said “Ronda Rousey is my bitch”

Love Rousey or hate her it doesn’t change the fact that she’s the champion! She shouldn’t have to move up in a weight class for ANYONE. If cyborg truly wants Rousey she should be the one making the effort and stop making excuses.

Rousey is set to defend her title against Alexis Davis this Saturday on July 5th at UFC 175 against well rounded challenger and veteran Alexis Davis. As far as cyborg goes she currently has a contract with Invicta FC and with the recent deal that invicta landed with UFC fight pass one can assume its only a matter of time before we see cyborg in the octagon again.

What do you guys think? Is this still a fight you’re interested in or are you over this war of words?

What’s next for Rousey after UFC 175?

20140625-152824.jpg

Ronda Rousey has been one of the fastest rising stars ever since she made her UFC debut in 2011 when she defeated Liz Carmouche. Ever since then it’s pretty much been a non stop ride for the champ. What’s next you may ask? Well according to “Rowdy” she wants to take a break. You can read the article here http://www.mmaweekly.com/ronda-rousey-planning-to-take-a-break-following-ufc-175

Not sure if you remember but Rousey had scheduled a vacation/cruise but those plans came to a holt when she was offered to fight Sara Mcmann. That being said I think it’s safe to say the women’s batemweight champion deserves a break don’t you think?
Before that though she has to face her next challenger Alexis Davis in the co main event of UFC175 on July 5th

Oh and never fear guys because Rousey has said it won’t be some type of hiatus break. When she says break she means “probably like a month”

Josh Barnett conquers the world: Episode 1

20140624-232236.jpg

I have to be up pretty much at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow to run some errands and my disability is not being nice to me tonight & is causing me extreme pain. However I will not let that stop me from delivering content to the best of my ability & sharing this gem with all of you.”Josh Barnett conquers the world” debuted on http://www.foxsports1.com this morning, but unfortunately you can’t watch the video if you have an iPhone. You can however download the audio via iTunes or you can listen via sound cloud just like I did https://m.soundcloud.com/barnett-conquers-world/shayna-bazler

I’m telling you this has to be one of the best Shayna Baszler interviews I’ve heard (with the exception of the ones I did of corse lol) simply because I smiled the whole way through and by the end of it my sides were hurting, so please if you’re a member of the Queens Army or a fan of “the warmaster” himself give this first episode a listen you won’t regret it.

Jessamyn Duke vs Raquel Pennington on TUF18

I know this is old but in my eyes it’s an oldie but a goodie. After all it is #Sundaygunday AND I am interviewing Jessamyn Duke today at 3pmPST/6pmEST on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/DTRTwrestling

I figured what better way to get hyped for the interview then by watching this incredible bout between Jessamyn Duke and Raquel Pennington?
This fight was arguably the best fright of the season of Tuf18 and some will even go as far to say that it was the best fight in the history of WMMA and rightfully so.

Sit back and relax, push the time travel button and enjoy this beauty of a fight.

Will we ever see Shayna Baszler in the WWE?

20140612-183726.jpg

When you hear the name “Shayna Baszler” typically two things come to mind. 1. Pioneer of WMMA or 2. Pro wrestling fan. Some other things might be “metal lover” or “2nd amendment supporter” anyway you get my point.

If you follow Baszler on social media(and if your not shame on you, drop whatever your doing and go do it NOW @QoSBaszler) you’ll know that she’s a huge fan of the WWE and the WWE loves her back. So the question is will she ever make the jump to the world of professional wrestling?

I mean after all she does specialize in “catch wrestling”and was one of the only females trained under the late great Billy Robinson. For those who don’t know catch wrestling is very similar to pro wrestling. In fact the beloved Daniel Bryan uses a lot of catch wrestling techniques in the WWE.

If the 33 year old Baszler would ever consider a career in pro wrestling she would fist have to “take care of a Brazilian first”. Baszler said quote “even if they (WWE) called me tomorrow I would have to tell them I have to have this fight first for the movie, the movie version of my life”
You can read more of the interview she did with fox sports 1 here http://msn.foxsports.com/ufc/story/shayna-baszler-needs-first-ufc-fight-before-considering-wwe-career-060914

The fight Baszler is referring to is of corse her UFC debut against Bethe Corriea at UFC176 Aug 2nd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. A fight that she’s been shedding blood, sweat and tears to get for 10+ years.

There you have it ladies and Gents its possible that we COULD see “the queen of spades” in WWE in the future but first she has to become the 1 in 8-1

Oh and how about that Shayna Baszler movie? Would you watch? I know I would.
