Ronda Rousey Confronts Toni Storm at AEW Revolution; Tony Khan Comments on Surprise Appearance

Ronda Rousey made a shocking appearance at AEW Revolution, confronting AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm moments after Storm defeated Marina Shafir.

The confrontation came after Storm and Shafir wrapped up a long-running rivalry in a singles match where everyone was banned from ringside to ensure a decisive finish. However, the no-interference rule didn’t apply once the match ended — which is when Rousey entered the picture.

Toni Storm Defeats Marina Shafir

Shafir controlled much of the early action, using her grappling background and striking to keep Storm on the defensive.

The match eventually spilled outside the ring, where Shafir slammed Storm to the floor and delivered several kicks while the champion was leaning against the announce desk. Storm avoided one of the strikes, causing Shafir to slam her foot against the desk, which shifted the momentum.

Back inside the ring, Storm took advantage by biting Shafir’s injured foot before launching her comeback. She followed up with three hip attacks and Storm Zero, but Shafir managed to kick out.

Storm continued the aggressive offense, even biting Shafir across the chest before landing a headbutt and ultimately securing the victory with a small package pin.

Ronda Rousey Appears After the Match

Storm began celebrating after the win when a woman suddenly jumped the barricade and entered the ring. Fans quickly realized it was former UFC champion and WWE star Ronda Rousey, who challenged Storm to step back into the ring.

Storm obliged, leading to a tense face-off between the two before officials and security rushed out to separate them.

During the chaos, Marina Shafir blindsided Storm with a cheap shot, allowing her to get the final word as she and Rousey exited through the crowd.

Tony Khan Addresses Rousey’s Appearance

Rousey’s surprise appearance was one of the most talked-about moments of the night, and AEW President Tony Khan addressed it during the Revolution post-show media scrum.

According to Khan, Rousey’s presence was connected to her friendship with Shafir.

“Ronda is a really good friend of Marina Shafir, and Marina brought her in as backup,” Khan explained.

Khan also noted that this wasn’t the first time Rousey had worked with him, referencing her November 2023 Ring of Honor appearance, where she teamed with Shafir in a tag team match against Athena and Billie Starkz.

While Khan stopped short of confirming any formal agreement between AEW and Rousey, he suggested that the door is open for future appearances.

“Ronda Rousey is a huge star. We have a great relationship with her… and she’s always welcome here in AEW anytime.”

Possible AEW Presence at Rousey’s Next Fight

During the media scrum, Khan was also asked whether AEW could be involved in Rousey’s upcoming MMA fight against Gina Carano on May 16.

Khan indicated that AEW talent may attend the event.

“Ronda invited me to the fight tonight,” Khan said. “Anybody from AEW who wants to attend that fight is welcome to do so.”

While Rousey’s long-term role with AEW remains unclear, her confrontation with Storm — combined with her alliance with Shafir — suggests that a potential storyline could be developing around the AEW Women’s World Championship.
