Monday night on RAW The Godfather was officially announced as a 2016 Inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The Godfather, real name Charles Wright, made a name for himself during WWE’s beloved Attitude Era as an eccentric and charismatic ladies man who always brought with him a train of beautiful women to the ring.”The Godfather’s unique persona and lovely ladies were a key ingredient in giving WWE, and the Attitude Era specifically, a very distinct flavor and feel,” the company said in a statement.”From his colorful outfits, to memorable theme song, entourage of gorgeous ladies and hard-hitting offense, The Godfather never failed to make an impression.”
Wright is best known for his tenure with the World Wrestling Federation throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, where he performed under the ring names Sir Charles, Papa Shango, Kama, Kama Mustafa, The Godfather, and The Goodfather. He also was known as The Soultaker in the United States Wrestling Association in the Memphis Wrestling area.
Wright is a two-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, and a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion (with Bull Buchanan).

The Godfather is the second inductee announced for the Hall of Fame class of 2016 alongside wrestling icon Sting. The two stars, along with all other future Hall of Fame recipients, will be honored April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas during WrestleMania week.
