During the Divas Championship contract signing on RAW, Paige made a controversial comment about Charlotte’s late brother that sparked a brawl between Charlotte & Paige.
During the segment, Charlotte got very emotional referencing her late brother (Reid Flair, who died on March 29, 2013 from an accidental overdose of heroin and prescription drugs), saying Paige was there for her when he died. Charlotte said she is here today because of him to fulfill his dream. Later, Paige insulted his memory in an attempt to rile Charlotte by saying he didn’t have much fight in him. Charlotte then lunged across the table after Paige and then a huge brawl ensued.
Reid and Charlotte’s mother, Elizabeth Fliehr, who is aslo Ric Flair’s ex-wife, was not very happy with the angle. She posted the following on Twitter:
