According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE has fired Billy Gunn (real name Kip Sopp) after learning that he failed a test for PED’s (performance enhancing drugs) at a powerlifting competition in Florida on July 25th.
Gunn’s drug test at the competition came up with a 37-1 testosterone/epitestosterone ratio, above the 4-1 limit, and he was suspended for 4 years. WWE was not aware of him competing as a powerlifter or his suspension from the sport until a few weeks ago.
Gunn age 52, has been working as trainer for WWE at their Performance Center since 2012. He had a short main roster comeback with his partner Road Dogg in early 2013, but has mainly been working with the NXT brand. Gunn was one of the trainers for WWE Tough Enough and recenlty was seen on WWE Network’s new show Breaking Ground.
