Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett: Raw GM Brad Maddox was Special Guest Referee: Barrett rolled Bryan up & Maddox made a fast 3 count. Barrett got the win. After the match Bryan backed Maddox into the corner & went after him but Maddox was able to get out of the way & escaped the ring.
Damien Sandow vs Randy Orton: Cody Rhodes did commentary during the match. Sandow handcuffed his Money In The Bank briefcase to ring. Later in the match Rhodes left the announce table & went over & tried to get the briefcase. Sandow argued with Rhodes. Orton took advantage of the distraction & hit Sandow with a RKO for the win.
The Shield Backstage, Seth Rollins said the old guard has got to go, it’s time for a new generation to rise up & that they are the emerging leaders of that generation. Rollins said we’re younger, hungrier & better. Roman Reigns made a challenge to anybody who wants to step up to try & take the Tag Team Titles from them. Dean Ambrose talked about tonight’s Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for his United States Championship. Ambrose said nobody in the Battle Royal could beat him because he is the unbeatable Champion in this industry. Ambrose said CM Punk is a catch phrase & that he is the best in the world. Ambrose said John Cena has a trophy & that he is the real WWE Champion because his Championship is the one everyone runs from. Ambrose said if Andre The Giant’s Ghost isn’t in the Battle Royal then he isn’t losing at Summer Slam. “Believe in The Shield.”

Backstage Josh Mathews with CM Punk. Mathews asked Punk about his match tonight with Paul Heyman. Punk said there isn’t a man alive that is afraid of Heyman in a one on one fight. Punk said last week Brock Lesnar told Heyman to say something stupid & it appears that he did but Heyam isn’t stupid. Punk said it’s all a chess game to Heyman. punk said he has a good feeling that he will see a little bit of Lesnar tonight. Punk said Lesnar likes to say the beast is the best. Punk said when it’s all said & done & when everything is on the line the best is the best.
Natalya & The Great Khali vs AJ Lee & Big E Langston: Natalya made AJ tap out with a Sharpshooter but it appears the referee missed up because he didn’t count it. Natalya went to the ref to get her hand raised but he didn’t do it. Natalya put the Sharpshooter on AJ again & AJ tapped out & this time the ref counted it. Natalya & Khali wins. After the match Big E attacked Khali from behind & Big E grabbed Hornswoggle & tossed him to the mat & kicked him out the ring & when Big E turned around Khali nailed him with a big overhead chop.
Mr. Vince McMahon came to the ring & talked about the match earlier between Daniel Bryan & Wade Barrett. Vince brought out Brad Maddox & asked him why he appointed himself the referee for the match. Maddox said Daniel Bryan matches tent to get out of hand & he thought the WWE Universe would appreciate an authority figure who has the guts to make the right decision. Vince said you have to admit that was a fast count. Maddox said he can admit to being a little excited it’s the first time he has had on the referee shirt in a while. Maddox said it wasn’t intentional & he did the best he could. Vince said there is no need to apologize if he did the best he could everybody makes mistakes. Maddox said he wants a second chance. Vince said a second chance at what. Maddox said he wants to be the official for the Cena & Bryan match at Summer Slam. Vince asked if he would be impartial & call it right down the middle. Maddox said yes. Vince said would you stop calling Bryan names like troll & dwarf & stop talking about Bryan’s toothpick like physique. Maddox said yes. Vince started to announce Maddox as the ref for the Cena vs Bryan match. Triple H interrupted & came to the ring. Vince said to Maddox that Triple H hasn’t been the same since he cut his hair. Triple H said given the importance of this match Sunday it seems to him that there is a whole lot more on the line than the WWE Championship & he agrees with Vince that there needs to be somebody who can take control of the match, somebody impartial who will call it right down the line & somebody who has the guts to do what is right & not be intimidated by anyone. Triple H said he doesn’t think Vince is referring to Maddox, it seem an awful lot like Vince is referring to him. Triple H laid out Maddox with a Pedigree. Vince was mad. Triple H will be the special guest referee for the Cena & Bryan match at Summer Slam.
Kane vs Titus O’Neil: Kane got the win. After the match the lights went out & The Wyatt Family came to the ring. Bray Wyatt sat in the rocking chair & Erick Rowans & Luke Harper went to attack Kane in the ring but when the light came on Kane wasn’t there he was up the isle. Kane set off his ring pyro. Wyatt just laughed.

Brie said Nattie can’t fight for anything because they’re in complete control of the Diva’s division. Natalya came in & made a challenge to Brie for Summer Slam. Natalya said Brie can bring Nikki & that wannabe Jessica Rabbit over there. Eva Marie walked in & said what did you call me. Natalya said she is bringing some friends of her own. The Funkadactyls walked in. Natalya said Brie did a good job covering the whelp on her face from when she slapped her. Brie said you can totally see yours & slapped Natalya.

Cena said he can’t think of abetter person than Triple H to keep order & make sure it’s called right down the middle. Miz said last week what seemed to be a friendly rivalry turned very personal & asked Cena what are his real issues with Bryan. Cena said it isn’t like that the issue is simply they both want to be WWE champion. Cena said Bryan will put up one hell of a fight. Miz told Bryan that hell of a fight is Cena code for your going to lose & it’s obvious Cena doesn’t respect him & chose him to ride his wave of popularity & give him an easy win. Bryan threatened to hit The Miz in the mouth if he doesn’t shut up. Bryan said he doesn’t get why Cena & people like him think he can only put up a hell of a fight. Bryan said last week Cena came out here & did what he does best & made some explosive remarks & got the WWE Universe on their feet. Bryan said Cena saw the red light on & grabbed the spotlight & that is why he doesn’t watch television. Bryan said it’s because of Cena & people like Cena that are more style than substance & are in it for the fame & glory not for the wrestling. Bryan talked about how his t-shirt is a parody of Cena. Cena talked about how the fans chant Yes! or No! because they believe in Daniel Bryan & that empowers you to show them that you believe in them as much as they believe in you. Cena said he has become a man who has spent the last 12 years wrestling around the world sometime they cheer sometimes they boo but he stood in for a dozen years in front of the most hostile environments in front of the biggest names this business has to offer & the difference between Bryan & him is not parody everyone of those matches he did while holding this(WWE Championship). Cena said please think that he is a joke or parody because everybody else thought the same thing & he beat them all a list that includes Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Batista, Randy Orton, CM Punk & The Rock. Bryan said you talk about these people like they’re better than me. Cena Bryan doesn’t belong in that class. Cena said respect isn’t given it’s earned. Cena said he will only respect Bryan if he beats him Sunday for the Championship. United States Championship #1Contender Battle Royal Match: Rob Van Dam, Tensai, Brodus Clay, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Ryback, Justin Gabriel, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Jack Swagger, Antonio Cesaro, The Great Khali, R-Truth, Fandango, Darren Young, Titus O’Neil, Kofi Kingston, Wade Barrett, Mark Henry: The last 3 in the match was Ryback, Henry & RVD. Henry & RVD eliminated Ryback. RVD eliminated Henry for the win to become #1 contender & will face Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship Sunday on the Summer slam kickoff show. After the match The Shield came down & surrounded RVD & Henry in the ring. The Big Show came to the ring & The Shield retreated.
Paul Heyman VS CM Punk: Heyman came to the ring & said do you here them Punk your worshippers are calling for their hero. Heyman said he doesn’t blame Punk for everything that has happened he blames the WWE Universe. Heyman said the fans took Punk away from him so tonight he will take the fans worship of their hero away from them. Heyman talked about hearing that this is a trap. Heyman said it’s a trap. Heyman said it’s an conspiracy & he has a co-conspirator. Heyman brought out Brock Lesnar. He showed a video of Lesnar beating up Punk. Heyman said Punk can play the hero & come out here & fight him & Lesnar. Heyman said heroes are stupid. Heyman said Punk doesn’t have to play the hero &tuck his tail between his legs & walk out the back & live to fight another day. Heyman said what is ii going to be Punk are you going to be the smart coward or are you going to play the stupid hero. CM Punk’s music is played & Punk came in from behind & nailed Lesnar with a video camera he took from a cameraman. He hit Lesnar 2 more time with it. Lesnar rolled out of the ring. Punk dove through the ropes onto Lesnar. Punk got a chair & hit Lesnar with it twice. Punk then set his sights on Heyman. Heyman ranup the ramp & Punk followed after him. Curtis Axel came out to save Heyman. Punk hit Axel with the chair & tossed him into the led screen on the stage & laid out Axel with a GTS. Punk stared down at Lesnar who was still down at ringside. Punk yelled “I am the best in the world.”
