All the focus leading up to tonight’s pay-per-view is no doubt the match between CM Punk and Ryback. The original creative plan to have John Cena face CM Punk was interrupted do to an emergency operation on Cena’s elbow which has put him out of action for several weeks.
Those in the industry say WWE has been backed into a corner. Not to mention television ratings are down and TNA wrestling seams to be picking up more viewership. There are many different factors to tonight’s main event outcome.
– Does a Ryback win make sense this early on in his push?
– If CM Punk wins Ryback could lose his current push as an unstoppable monster
– If CM Punk loses how would that impact his match with the Rock at Royal Rumble
The frustration is clearly seen through simple tweets by the WWE creative team which now includes Paul Heyman. What is the right business decision? What would get higher ratings? And most importantly is Ryback ready?
Reports suggest that the WWE creative team have not yet come to a decision and will most likely wait until closer to show time.
