“Backstage Fallout” Raw – July 30, 2012

Ed’s thoughts on the backstage fallout:

I must admit (and I’m not saying this just for my partner Trevor’s benefit), but I have to agree  with the Crazy Chick, that The Age of AJ is off to a fantastic start. While newly turned heel CM Punk wouldn’t agree (he screams “Are you crazy” at AJ as the show ends), it’s my opinion that AJ did a much better job as GM than Punk did as a heel.

Being a huge Jericho fan, I am excited that he is fueding with Dolph Ziggler and that it appears he will be a face again for a while. I love hearing the crowd pop for The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla when he comes out to Break the Walls Down! I  also thought that Jericho and Christian worked great together.

While it is funny and good entertainment, how long can Kofi put up with “Little Jimmy” getting in the way of the progress for the tag champions (notice Kofi shaking his head at the end of that part). And I’ve got 2 “what’s up with……” issues with AW. 1) What’s up with AW being a sissy and throwing a shoe at Kofi, and 2)What’s up with AW having a live mic during the entire match. Someone needs to find his mute button.

AJ’s “Last Name” Is Not New

There are alot of reports regarding the WWE’s choice to use “Lee” as the last name for April Mendez’s character of “AJ” now that she is the on-screen general manager of Raw.

Many reports are saying that it is a new last name when in reality she was given the last name of “Lee” starting during her time at FCW the WWE’s developmental training wrestling promotion based in Tampa Florida.

The last name was used for a short time during her NXT period before the WWE dropped it and simply called her “A.J.

CM Punk Blames Jerry Lawler For WWE Universe Backlash

CM Punk spoke out during the beginning of Raw last night about his actions last week. Comments included going after Jerry The King Lawler for his closing comments at the end of Raw’s 1000th episode. Lawler said “CM Punk has turned his back on the WWE Universe”.

Since last Monday CM Punk has had heated comments said about him which in a very real way forced him to avoid his twitter account for the entire week.

Raw General Manager AJ Lee Vows To Be “most social media friendly GM”

The new Raw general manager AJ Lee used TOUT 2 separate times during Raw last night. Once during the show and again after it went off the air. AJ says she is going to be “most social media friendly GM in WWE history”

In her first TOUT message AJ makes reference to the fire that happened before the broadcast saying that it was “appropriate” considering it was her first night as Raw’s general manager. She added that she was pretty proud of herself.

In her second and final TOUT posted after the show she asked the WWE universe what they thought of her announcement for the WWE championship at Summerslam.
